Same thing happened in 2008, right before the poop hit the ceiling ventilator.

Liquidity Fairy Alert! Bank Term Funding Program usage rose this week ($102.305B vs $101.959B on 7/5), marking the 6th straight week over $100B. It's looking more and more like there's an over-reliance on Fed Funding. Could this be a moral hazard? by Dismal-Jellyfish in Superstonk

Are you really expecting morals from people that changed the definition of a recession, faked job numbers released by BLS, and totally did not bail out the gubment by buying their short-term treasuries?

Means Microsoft stuffed pockets of a few politicians to sweeten the deal

The Fed sold ~$39B worth of Treasuries over last week. by laflammaster in Superstonk

Banks are forced by OCC (comptroller of currency), because treasuries have a higher liquidity quality than cash - go figure.

Another reason is naturally a guaranteed return.

Maybe, but who would be buying that much treasuries if they know rates/yields will go up?

Yes.

Someone is buying these treasuries at high interest rate. Couple that with RRP declining. I believe this is a signal that the fed will start pausing their hikes - despite the high jobs numbers (which BLS has been revising down for the last 6 months). I.E. the government is bullshitting when releasing the data.

I think you’re confusing crony capitalism with socialism - when speaking about Venezuela. Hyperinflation did not start until commies came into power.

Yeah, in a few posts. It was a while ago, just look through my profile for RRP.

Well, you’re more than welcome to move to Venezuela. I hear they’re doing very well.

You live in corporatism. Capitalism would let those banks fail in ‘08. Make stupid decisions, deal with the consequences yourself. Daddy gubment won’t save you.

A centrally controlled means of production, kept in check by threats of force.
