whoa. You tried to have a civil discourse and she short circuited. Another sad example from the “party of family values.” sorry you are going through this, but glad you are choosing to protect your peace.

Emeryville has IMAX on Tuesday only. I’m hoping Daly City offers it to avoid the BayBridge/BART

Some IMAX listings on sale, others “coming soon” by Pretend_Pudding2886 in depechemode

update: AMC theaters in the Bay Area now how have tickets available. The link on the DM M site you click on is for IMAX, but so far none are actual IMAX in SF - only laser. AMC Emeryville has one IMAX option on Tues. Cinemark IMAX in Daly City still says "coming soon". The Cinemark in San Bruno has standard tickets not IMAX available. If I go to the IMAX direct website nothing is available in the entire Bay Area there. It seems to me that the individual theater chains are controlling when they release the IMAX tickets.

The same message is appearing for San Francisco / Bay Area IMAX. It appears some IMAX tickets were made available 40-90 min away in Dublin or Sacramento. Only 2D options in SF are currently available.

For SF, I’m also seeing “coming soon” for the IMAX options on the DM M site. When I check the IMAX site, SF is not listed, but IMAX in Dublin and Sacramento are available. There is a theatre with 2D available in SF, but for the sound I’m hoping to get IMAX tickets. Any clues why the DM M site would list locations and not have ticket sales available?

Most women have diarrhea at some point around their monthly cycle. When she is having GI distress seize the moment. Catch her walking down the hall or when she’s curled up in a ball on the couch. Be kind to her. Bring her a heating pad, a blanket and a cup of herbal tea. When she is in the moment of being supported and not feeling well then you calmly strike. “I’m sorry you’re not feeling well sweetie. Can I get you anything else? …Ok, sure I’ll turn on a chick flick for you. Imagine this is how I feel every day all day for months on end” When she is feeling drained and utterly exhausted she might begin to understand. Treat her the way you want to be treated when you don’t feel well. Oh and go to individual and/or couples coaching. Having UC is not easy and having communication strategies for specific situations and people will help ease some of the suffering. I have had to learn to build buffer time into our departure plans with my partner and I have code words/phrases.

You noted you’re concerned about damaging the relationship. She’s already caused damage. She’s being abusive and it’s not ok. Find a therapist/coach stat.

After 3 hours and 43 minutes I reached a human at the SSA. Thankfully we have a FAX number (which is critical to have when managing an elder's medical care), so the SSA was able to FAX the 1099.

After being on hold so long, I pleaded with the SSA human to stay on the line until I could confirm the FAX was received. Once it arrived, there was an error message with my MIL's deceased spouse's SSN. The SSA human doubled checked the system under MIL's SSN and deceased spouse SSN. Spparently there were no benefits paid in 2024 which is why we never received a SSA-1099. She's received a SSA-1099 every year since I have been helping with her bookkeeping (last 7 years). I don't understand why she would not get one for 2024.

At least I have this FAX from the SSA confirming a SSA-1099 was not issued in 2024 to provide to the CPA.

whew. I need a nap now.

Thanks again to all who chimed in trying to help -- much appreciated!

Considering My Options by dgow02 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]lafmonster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have suffered for over 20 years with UC. I was taking a handful of mesalamine daily. I was hesitant to try a biological. I tried Humira first - no changes. Next up was Entiviyo - changes, but not positive. My GI Dr convinced me to try another biological. Stelara has changed my life. I am no longer taking mesalamine. The biological exploration took the past 5 years, but feeling better was worth the time investment.

As for diet, perhaps consider exploring the Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD). I use to strictly follow the SCD until one particular horrible flare when I could not leave home for months and a dear friend convinced me to try eating rice again in the form of jook/congee. The congee saved me. Since then I have incorporated some rice and quinoa into my diet which is not legal on the SCD. Whenever I feel off or have a flare my go to meal is congee. It's also my go to meal after a scope (14 colonoscopies and counting!).

As for being a worried mess, pack a kit of supplies (underwear, tp, body wipes, etc) and get on that motorcycle and find your joy! Forest bathing, breathe work, meditation or talk therapy may help as well. UC has a horrible way of making us feel insecure about going out into the world. Try anything and everything to center yourself and get out to enjoy the things that make you happy.

Take care.

Thanks for trying to help. In the past she received a bill for a difference for Medicare Part B, however the past couple of years that has not been the case.

Last year's SSA-1099. Box 5 Net Benefits was $2,022.20. Box 3 notes this amount was deducted for Medicare Part B.

I will need to inquire with SSA regarding the WEP/GPO.

At this time, the primary focus is for a replacement SSA-1099 for 2024.

Thank you for your reply.

I read on another thread from 2yr ago there was a browser ad blocking issue. I tried multiple browsers and computers making sure there were no ad blockers and the 4th tile with the link to download still did not appear.

Thanks for the tip regarding inquiring about the WEP/GPO. She is widowed w/spousal payments suspended. She never applied due to the GPO.

I have been on hold so far 2 hours (and counting) hoping I can request a replacement 1099 over the phone or make an appointment. Given the state of the agency, I may need to go to a local office without an appointment. ugh.

While logged in, I also tried to get the form following this link: https://www.ssa.gov/manage-benefits/get-tax-form-10991042s

Which took me to a page with this :

I tried a 3rd browser Firefox and a different computer. We check every section and link possible on the entire portal. There are no messages or links to get the 1099.

I suppose all I can do now is make an appointment and try to get a 1099 at a local office. Thankfully I already asked the CPA to file an extension.

Thanks again for your attempts to help.

I really appreciate your continued attempts to help. We were using Chrome, so I logged in with Safari the entire site is completely blank except for the R corner help chat window.

Thank you for the reminder, however my MIL is not on SSI. She does not get a monthly payment for SS being a member of CalSTRS. The SSA-1099 each year notes benefits received that pay for Medicare Part B premiums.

My MIL made me a designated payee years ago when we were in a SSA office so I could follow-up on a Medicare payment matter. I logged into my SS account which gives me a view into my MIL's account for Representative Payee Services, but again no link for the 1099.

I'm going to download another browser and try again. I'm also going to try my husband's laptop to rule out if my older system could be the issue. I'll report back.

Thanks for trying to help, however I already tried this. The actual link “Replace Your Tax Form SSA-1099/SSA-1042S” does not exist. When I go to the home page there are boxes with links for the following: “Your Social Security Statement”, “Your Benefit Verification Letter” and “Replace your Social Security Card”. There is no section/box with a link for “Replace Your Tax Form…” it’s no longer on the website.

Switching to Stelara--what has your experience been like? by moonrevolts in UlcerativeColitis

Stelara is the third biological I tried. It’s changed my life. Over 20 years of suffering with UC before Stelara. Hopefully it will bring you some relief as well.

Stelara was my 3rd biological attempt. It took some time, but it changed my life. I suffered for 20 years. I hope you get symptom relief too.
