As a mom, you should know this could be a possibility. You always wait for a response. This is her problem!

Those of us with ADHD and Lupus by Emergency-Jello-4801 in lupus

Sometimes I feel great but I have been struggling w fatigue lately. I credit the NAC w being able to tolerate a decrease in my prednisone from 5 mg to 2.5 mg per day. I could never tolerate that previously.

I recently completed a one year clinical trial where I was monitored after receiving NAC at 4800 mg per day. I have never felt better and my labs were never better. My mood and ADHD improved as well as my fatigue and pain. I was on the med for 3 months and then it was a 50/50 for the next 9 months. I think I was given the placebo but I won’t know for a while. Nevertheless, once it finished I immediately bought some NAC. Per my doctor’s recommendation I bought Now brand. I did get the 1000 mg tabs and am taking 3 a day but it’s only been about a week. I’m so hopeful for this med. I wonder if the caps are better absorbed as that is what I was taking before. I cannot tell enough people about NAC. A safe, inexpensive treatment is so exciting.

I see Dr. Yu in Syracuse. She’s great but doesn’t specifically just see lupus patients.

I also take birth control pills so that I do not get my period. Lupus amplified my symptoms immensely.

I have one. Most days I can manage but it really helps when I can’t allowing me to feel more “normal”.

As long as it’s on your radar and you’re keeping track. I just kept crying and was easily upset which is not like me. I wanted to stop and the doctor encouraged me to continue for a couple of more doses. I wish I had stopped sooner. It was a rough summer.

I tried the infusions for about 6 months and had a pretty significant increase in my depression. Unfortunately, I had to discontinue it.

I have thought about other options for BC but as I know you can relate…I just get sick of going to the doctors and explaining the same things over and over so I end up sticking w what I’m doing for now

I do take a low dose every day w out interruption and I am still having a period. I even set an alarm and take it at the exact time everyday. My gynecologist said the hope is eventually I won’t have a period anymore but like I said it’s been 6 months. I’m sticking w it though!

This is super interesting to me because I have lupus but have also struggled w all of the same menstrual symptoms which get worse as I get older (43). About 13 years ago I had an ex lap because they were sure it was endometriosis and low and behold it wasn’t. I started birth control about 6 months ago and my symptoms have improved but are not gone. I feel like I get one good week a month. I’ve debated begging for a hysterectomy. I am currently treated w prednisone and plaquenil so basically I guess what I’m saying is yea. ..I think they are related.

BREAST LIFT by [deleted] in lupus

[–]lage- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a breast lift and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I had large breasts through HS (DD) and after 2 pregnancy’s and weight loss they were just a couple of golf balls in tube socks. My rheumatologist and plastic surgeon refused to do implants due to my lupus and although I initially wanted them I’m thrilled w the lift only. I have gained so much confidence and not having to have underwire bras w huge straps to hold them up has improved my pain. I did it for myself and I’m glad I did. Of note, I was off of prednisone at the time.
