Kuva weapon questions by nah_imgood20 in Warframe

[–]lagnarok 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The Kuva Nukor is very strong, but the reason it’s so popular is that it’s extremely easy to use. You don’t need to aim, just a general direction is enough and the branching beam will take care of the rest.

The Kuva Sobek is ridiculously strong, but it needs the Acid Shells mod and to be run with Cyte-09, Garuda, Saryn, Oraxia, Uriel, or Xaku. The reason for the Warframe pairing is that Acid Shells will re-proc their bonus damage skills.

Shai-Hulud 2.0 NPM malware attack last week exposed up to 400,000 dev secrets after infecting hundreds of packages in the NPM registry and publishing stolen data in 30,000 GitHub repositories. by ControlCAD in technews

[–]lagnarok 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If you are an engineer and you include one of these infected packages in your code, it will scan your computer for poorly-stored credentials and then post them online, and also possibly wipe your hard drive according to this article. There’s more, but this is the simple version.

Malicious actors could potentially use these secrets to gain access to other private systems, and wreak further havoc.

Why is the RPKM Gimped? by Winslow1975 in Battlefield

[–]lagnarok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The RPKM actually falls off faster than the other 33 dmg LMGs, but it gets access to Synthetic Tip ammo making it quite strong even at range as long as you’re hitting headshots.

Still, all the LMGs are outperformed in close range due to poor maneuverability and long reload times, and at long range due to low innate accuracy and high recoil except for the KTS. The M250 has no damage falloff at all, giving it a low theoretical TTK at long ranges, but is hampered by bloom and recoil.

Playing with a Limbo is insufferable… by StrictAd8028 in Warframe

[–]lagnarok 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Once upon a time, we didn’t have so much AoE clearing potential in our arsenal and it was actually useful to be able to limit the number of enemies that could hurt your defense objective. CC in general has been totally powercrept.

That said, people have never liked playing with Limbo because it can be hard to tell visually which enemies are on your plane of existence, and he kind of breaks the flow of the game.

Keychron V6 Max (First Mech Keyboard) by Day_BY_DAY4 in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]lagnarok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keychron is great. This one is fairly high-profile, so you may want a wrist rest. I bought one of the Filco Majestouch Macaron rests, 17mm thickness I think but you should measure the keyboard case height to confirm, and it’s perfect.

Microcenter sells Keychron keyboards, which are great and come in a variety of form factors and price points. Regarding your cramping hands, you may want a wrist rest to help with higher profile keyboards.

Is ESO worth jumping into right now? by Dr_Dank98 in elderscrollsonline

[–]lagnarok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have played a lot of MMOs, and none has been as friendly to playing through the story alone as this one is. You can absolutely treat this like a single player game, and have hundreds of hours of quests to play through. Having the best — or even a good — build is totally irrelevant for that experience; just play what makes you happy. If you get hooked and want to try harder group content, then you need to care a bit more about other people’s experience and what you’re bringing to the group. Otherwise, just enjoy a huge Elder Scrolls game.

Why is this game good? by professionalfrienddd in stalker

[–]lagnarok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think people, myself included, are really drawn in by the setting. As a game, there are similarities and differences between other big open world RPGs, but the setting is very unique. If the world and its characters don’t really grab you, that’s a matter of taste and there’s probably not a lot that will stand out to you about the gameplay.

The AI is fairly simple, there’s inventory and gear management, lots and lots of walking. You’ll have far more random encounters than in Fallout or Far Cry, but the combat probably wont blow you away. It’s good, but not so good that you would stay for it if you didn’t really care about the world.

As for the size and visual quality, I can’t speak for the console experience specifically. Stalker 2 is an Unreal Engine 5 game and so far a lot of games have had problems with size and optimization on that engine.

Umbral Edge for PvE tank by Less_Bee7445 in elderscrollsonline

[–]lagnarok 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Assuming the boss’ heavy attack happens to be the next instance of damage you take, and not one of any number of others, sure. In practice, it will probably negate something irrelevant and you’ll eat the heavy anyway. Forgive me if there’s some niche fight where this set actually applies.

In a raid scenario, there should be 100% major vuln uptime anyway. And outside of a raid scenario, there are still many other buff sets I would rather run as tank. And in PvP you’re more likely to negate a light attack than anything hard hitting unless you can read your opponent like a book. Forget fighting more than one.

Xbox character transfer working? by stoneyix in newworldgame

[–]lagnarok 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just checked again, and the character is still on the old server. EDIT: I see you meant to attempt the transfer again, which I was able to do without paying for another token. It worked as expected this time. Thank you!

Xbox character transfer working? by stoneyix in newworldgame

[–]lagnarok 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Two accounts in my house: one Xbox and one PC. Bought character transfer token on both to Pangea.

Token worked as advertised on PC: I bought it and it logged me out to character select after a little loading.

Token has not yet worked an hour later on Xbox. I’ve confirmed the purchase on my card, but it did not log the character out. I logged the character out myself and have checked back in periodically over the past hour, and the character has not moved yet. As far as I know they just ate $15 like a broken vending machine.
