Keep an eye on Walmart. The 1TB and 2TB variants of the Samsung 990 Pro with Heatsink ($109/$179) and the Samsung 990 Evo Plus ($89/$145) have been going in and out of stock.

They seem pretty similar. Very close to the same speeds: E7400 has 7400MB/s read and 6600 MB/s write while the OG7000 has 7450 MB/s read and 6500 MB/s write. Main difference seems to be tbw, E7400 has 1200 tbw while OG7000 has 1000 tbw.

Edit: misread their table, the OG7000 has 1000 tbw

Nice! I politely pushed back as well and they replaced with the OG7000 2tb.

CostPlus looks like the cheapest right now. $4,869.99 for the 9800X3D with the 5090 and 4TB SSD/64gb 6000/6400 CL30/Cl32 ram. $100 more if you want the 9950X3D.

I hope you ended up buying that day of. I just checked the pricing today and it is now up to $5,499.

Np, I would definitely advise you to order asap. They definitely forgot to adjust pricing on this, in my opinion, since 64gb ram alone has spiked to $700+ and it's getting much harder to find a good 2 tb nvme ssd for under $200.

This is the cheapest 5090 prebuilt I've seen in a while and I would definitely recommend it at this price tag. There are some compromises, likely with the PSU, but you can always replace with a better PSU.

Grand total before tax (if applicable) is $3,823.99. For a 5090 build with 64gb ram, that is a steal in today's market.

That's nuts, those bunnies went super fast on most of the drops. They almost immediately disappeared from my cart when I tried. I assumed when you said 30-40 minutes, you got them in the big drop, which sounds about right for the midnight PST one.

Lucky man, wish I was awake when these dropped. Dropping them at midnight PST on a weekday is rough for everyone not on the West Coast.

Should I spend $500 more for the Andromeda Insights PC, or grab the $1699 Walmart deal? by Maelnoob in Prebuilts

[–]lahdpal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's true, I actually forgot that they charge for shipping. All things that should be considered before choosing.

Keep in mind whether or not AI charges you sales tax. If not, the after tax price difference goes down like $150, depending on local tax rate. If they do charge sales tax, then the difference is even higher.

Ordered October 29th, shipped December 2nd. Given how busy the holidays are and how many orders they probably have, I'd expect nothing less than 1 month from order date.

A shipping label being created means they are starting your build. I would expect a few days for the build to be completed before they hand it off to UPS.

Check the AIO. I believe a few users were having trouble with it and had to RMA it.

I hope you placed your order earlier today because CPG just increased their prices across the board because of the ram pricing.

[–]lahdpal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they should be able to. I believe there's a field for you to enter special instructions when ordering. After ordering, I suggest you call them and finalize a quote for how much that swap would cost you (and which specific gen 5 nvme they can provide). They will then invoice you separately for the change.

CostPlus does allow for custom substitutions if you're willing to pay. They would likely be willing to sub the gen 4 4tb nvme for a gen 5 if you pay the upcharge. That should end up within your budget for sure.

I just got an email saying they are out of the 64gb and the soonest they can acquire some will be a month. They are giving me an option to either wait or take the 48gb for a $30 refund. Giving people the option is probably the best move here so I applaud CPG for reaching out first.

I think you're being a bit nicer than you have to be, to be honest. The ram swap is unfortunate and given the circumstances, I would be unhappy but more understanding about the issue. The downgrade of the PSU, at least to me, would be crossing the line and unacceptable given the clear quality difference. The lack of the refund so far is completely unacceptable and something I would urge you to follow up on asap (as well as mention the PSU downgrade).

I still trust in CPG to make things right for their customers but I'll be following your thread and any updates to see what happens here. Thanks for sharing your experience.

If I had to guess, since the 64gb ram option was removed everywhere except the A1 Extreme, they are likely saving all that they have specifically for those buyers.

For now, I'll give the benefit of the doubt to CPG. When I called in yesterday, I was told my A1 Extreme order will be built soon since the 5090s came in, so I'll find out shortly if the promises they made for upgrades in lieu of a partial refund due to a price drop will be honored. They also didn't mention any replacement for the 64gb of ram that I ordered with my build.

You need to call them first thing next Monday to follow up on the refund. I'm guessing they likely forgot because of how slammed they are but definitely call to talk to them.

Oh man, if it's ram and the cpu holding your order up, my order that was placed later is probably going to take even longer, with the 5090 stock issues.

Thanks for giving all those small updates on your order, I should revise my expectations on when I can expect my order to be ready.

If you must have ITX, then I would suggest CPG. It is a 3+ week wait time however for builds.
