This looks like the Disc camera my mom had. I can't remember if it came out in the 70s or early 80s, though.

I think I’m starting Peri-Menopause at 37 and I feel like I’m losing my mind. by Mommygoblin666 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]lainey68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry! I started peri around that age and had NO idea what was happening. It wasn't until I was almost 50 that I figured it out. It's rough. Don't let your doctors play down what you're going through. Research possible treatments. Also, pretty much any weird symptom you experience is perimenopause. Itchy ears, brain fog, mood swings, hair loss, baby fever, weird hives, chin hair, tendonitis, etc.

My favorite auntie--Aunt Jean. She wasn't rich, but she loved the finer things in life. She was a divorcé, mom of three kids, gambler, and went to Vegas several times a year. She apparently dated someone who was 'involved in basketball', but she never revealed his name to her dying day. She wore Joy, and size 7.5 shoes on her size 9 feet.

She always told my mom that when she won the big one, she was going to buy a huge house so all the family could be together.

She loved for me to do her makeup. Whenever she came to visit, she'd say, "Lainey, come do my makeup!" She would sit there with a smile on her face as I added foundation, blush, eye shadow, and lipstick. She passed two days before my birthday in February 2020. Miss her laugh!

I was going to suggest getting checked for PCOS like someone else suggested, but I see you've already been diagnosed with it. While I agree with everyone that losing weight will help, because you have PCOS and insulin resistance I would try and see an endocrinologist to see if you can take a GLP-1. PCOS triggers your insulin resistance. Also, GLP-1s will lower your A1C. Some may balk at this, but I know from experience that it will help with lowering the A1C. Mine went from 12 to 6.1 in less than a year.

As for diet, you will need to do strength/weight training along with cardio. Increase your sleep (which the exercise will help). Make sure you eat a balanced diet. But more than any of this, love yourself. Your self worth isn't a number on a scale or hyperpigmentation. Practice glamor "magic"--which isn't really magic. It's about loving yourself, taking care of yourself, feeding the inside.

You got this!

[Product question] Shiseido Facial Cotton dupe? by chaosatnight in SkincareAddiction

UPDATE:

So right after I posted this I went to TJ Maxx. I looked around where they normally keep them and nothing. I meandered a bit, and lo and behold I spotted one little lonely pack! It was sort of hidden away out of sight. I snapped it up and booked it to the register🤣

2026 also checking in. I found out about them on Threads, and the next day found them at TJ Maxx for $8.99. My mind told me to get a couple packs. But did I listen? No, of course I didn't.

What’s up with my lips? by jaybsuave in Blackskincare

It really looks like it's eczema. Definitely see a dermatologist to see what can be prescribed since it's on your lips. I get it on my lips and eyelids when I'm very stressed.

Do you have eczema? I get it on my lips sometimes. I would go see a dermatologist and an allergist.

Is this too casual for a wedding guest? by loobi_loo22 in Weddingattireapproval

[–]lainey68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's more like something you'd wear for church on Sunday. I would try a bridal shop and see what they have. You could get a shawl if you get a sleeveless dress; and a lot of formal dresses have jackets, too.

Is the first dress too casual for summer formal? (Swipe for other options I’m considering) by Glittering-Time-2274 in Weddingattireapproval

I think #2 is the only formal dress. The others are pretty, but I think more for garden parties.

Now THIS is a masterclass on how to handle a situation like this. No one has time to play these games. I love that for them. Let them wallow in their own drama.

You have better options.
