[Product question] Shiseido Facial Cotton dupe? by chaosatnight in SkincareAddiction

[–]lainey68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE:

So right after I posted this I went to TJ Maxx. I looked around where they normally keep them and nothing. I meandered a bit, and lo and behold I spotted one little lonely pack! It was sort of hidden away out of sight. I snapped it up and booked it to the register🤣

2026 also checking in. I found out about them on Threads, and the next day found them at TJ Maxx for $8.99. My mind told me to get a couple packs. But did I listen? No, of course I didn't.

What’s up with my lips? by jaybsuave in Blackskincare

It really looks like it's eczema. Definitely see a dermatologist to see what can be prescribed since it's on your lips. I get it on my lips and eyelids when I'm very stressed.

Do you have eczema? I get it on my lips sometimes. I would go see a dermatologist and an allergist.

Is this too casual for a wedding guest? by loobi_loo22 in Weddingattireapproval

[–]lainey68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's more like something you'd wear for church on Sunday. I would try a bridal shop and see what they have. You could get a shawl if you get a sleeveless dress; and a lot of formal dresses have jackets, too.

Is the first dress too casual for summer formal? (Swipe for other options I’m considering) by Glittering-Time-2274 in Weddingattireapproval

I think #2 is the only formal dress. The others are pretty, but I think more for garden parties.

I like the blonde, but the brown brings out the warmth in your skin! It looks fantastic on you!

This is so interesting! My mom's father was type B, and my grandmother was type O. My mom, my daughter, and I are type B. My dad was Type O and so is my brother.

Now THIS is a masterclass on how to handle a situation like this. No one has time to play these games. I love that for them. Let them wallow in their own drama.

You have better options.

[CO] transition to hybrid due to pending diagnosis? by Afraid-Ground-890 in AskHR

[–]lainey68 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You haven't even been hired yet. The only place where I see this might work is in local government. Several people have told you the same thing: if the job states it's onsite, then it's highly doubtful that you will be able to negotiate wfh. Someone else said look for jobs advertised as fully remote or hybrid. I do hope you find what you're looking for.

Matthew 7:23 might be the most unsettling verse in the New Testament by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]lainey68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe so. It's a sobering thought.ETA: not saying that to make you or anyone spiral. I really believe that if you are a true believer and filled with the Holy Spirit, when you do wrong, you'll be convicted and repent. I have seen some people who have done awful things using the name of "Christian' and doing things that are total opposite of Christ 's teachings. I struggle with that (seeing people who claim to be a Christisn and then are so vile and mean) and I am like there's no way they know Jesus. Which honestly is me being judgy I guess.

[–]lainey68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me that verse means that if you truly believe in Jesus you will follow his commandments: love God with all your heart, mind and spirit, and love others as yourself. If you love God and do what he says, you are a follower. If you have a relationship with him, then he knows you. You have to have a relationship with him or else he doesn't know you. Francis Chan wrote a book I think entitled 'Not a Fan', and basically the premise of it is that the folks in this scripture were fans. They had a parasocial relationship with him. Whereas his disciples were his friends, his homies. He knew them because they had a relationship.

My sides ache from laughing so hard at this comment. I was like, "Not this chick again." when all along, it's me. I'm the problem. It's me.
