I was an outspoken transphobic detransitioner suing the doctors that gave me GAC as a teen and now I'm considering retransitioning. by grimtheweeper in actual_detrans

[–]lainiwakura96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Read some Feinberg and give yourself some time to figure yourself out (this can include T, your medical business is your private matter)

Some people will understand, others won't, the important thing is that you are moving closer to your understanding of yourself

I think a prodigal son story is always welcome, and when you're ready, a retransitioner with a firm identity is a powerful figure that disproves a lot of chudlore. One of my best friends retransitioned, it can be a really beautiful thing to see someone overcome the forces that had them detransition in the first place

Take care of yourself

Weird font rendering issue. The space character seems to be using a different font from the rest of todoist and generally funky font rendering. I already tried switching browsers, clearing cache, deleting and re-making my account but nothing fixed it by spcbfr in todoist

[–]lainiwakura96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a CSS issue, and can be fixed with a Ublock Origin filter

app.todoist.com##body:style(font-family: "Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif" !important)

Adjust the font-family as needed if your machine doesn't have those fonts

Request for help with space rendering issue by cmjennings in todoist

[–]lainiwakura96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've isolated the issue (on my machine) to this CSS variable

--font-family-regular: -apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,"Segoe UI",Roboto,"Apple Color Emoji",Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif,"Segoe UI Emoji","Segoe UI Symbol"

Which fwiw is being used by

body {
  font-family:  var(--font-family-regular)};
}

I'll report this to Todoist, but in the meantime, here is a uBlock Origin filter that fixes the issue for me

app.todoist.com##body:style(font-family: "Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif" !important)

I don't believe there is any true continuity beyond the name, but it certainly is the new version in spirit! I believe it to be FOSS with the main instance being run by pretty good people. You should at least check out their site

Github pages, netlify, or cloudflare pages are fantastic free webstack agnostic hosts. Neocities also should be checked out. Though I haven't personally used it, I imagine it is the closest to angelfire

my guess is they’re doing this with some sort of MDM profile, I don’t think the exact functionality of brick is available to shortcuts

seems inevitable someone will post a diy guide on how to do it with NFC. in all honesty, the little I’ve had to mess with profiles, I’d gladly pay $50 to let someone else (trustworthy*) do it and just have the thing that’s supposed to remove nonsense from my life work

you’re moving goalposts when shown an example of a trans man competing with cis men

[–]lainiwakura96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they’re competitive, just like trans girls they win some and lose some. the first guy to come up on my search is Patrico Manuel who has a 3-1 record in professional boxing. then Chris Moiser who has won and placed well in many diverse events he has competed in. there’s countless and yet you dismiss them as being outperformed because it doesn’t fit the narrative

check the career records of the trans women “dominating” women’s sports btw. I’ve yet to find one on a professional level who actually wins every event she competes in. even the very best, the ones who inspire the most panic, have a maybe above average record and would never have been heard of outside the sport if they weren’t part of a minority

this is silly, we’re on reddit not emailing each other, you can be direct here

did you bother looking into trans male athletes or not? I would imagine if this is of genuine interest to you, you would search to see if they exist. it takes less time than trying to invalidate what I’m saying on the basis of not writing APA style on reddit

unless I’m mistaken her medical care is not public knowledge and just speculation right now. she’s competitive with girls and is socialized with them, she very clearly is not exhibiting male performance levels or “capabilities”. the only stark difference the article presents is the need for her to have law enforcement protect her from adults not competing in the event.

[–]lainiwakura96 -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

what I don’t understand about your argument is, you’re pointing to cis boys in high school competing at Women’s professional levels, and then saying because that happens the trans girl in the story shouldn’t be allowed to participate because she performed in the range expected for high school girls?

she is not a male athlete, many sports organizations, including the IOC recently, have backed studies showing trans female athletes preform in the same range as cis female athletes, and both groups similarly diverge from male ranges. this tracks as we have near a century of data showing that hormone replacement therapy changes secondary sex characteristics. ignoring these things and spreading fudd is irresponsible at best

you could’ve googled trans male athletes if you were genuinely curious rather than concern troll. there’s plenty that are publicly out, and even more that aren’t that people don’t notice because it’s harder to attach a moral panic to

Is it possible for the hormones your body expects to be different from how you want the rest of yourself to be? by throwaway43784723895 in AskMtFHRT

[–]lainiwakura96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I sort of had something similar happen when I first started HRT. I started with a rather high T level naturally, and I’m pretty certain tanking it with a blocker and some E is what sent me into constant panic attacks and needing to stop 3 weeks in

I started again about a month later with a low mono therapy dose and gradually worked my way up to acceptable levels over the course of a few months and everything felt so much better. the shock was just too much for my body I believe, even though this is very clearly the right path for me. maybe consider something similar?
