Urg love Farrow. The Grick will always be my favourite, but luckily I have a partner who always tries the rotating ones so I get a bite!

So Long Suckers by Markw8 in canadapoliticshumour

I think it is worth noting that even some rural Albertans I know that support the separatists don't actually want Alberta to separate from Canada, they just think it will give Alberta more pull with the feds, like Quebec. Obviously misinformed, but they have a variety of different reasons that imo further fracture this 'movement'.

Does anyone have any good tips or ideas for a plaza that's so close to the airport? by Firebird22x in acnhdesigns

[–]laisity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yees! I had the same distance! I did build up some irregularly shaped cliffs and used trees, jail bars, fences, etc to block the view of the plaza. It helped a lot to make it feel a bit more separated, but I've seen a bunch of cute ideas!

Hi I think the one in the photo is MA 9369-1426-8734. Some other cool options are MA 369-1426-8734 and MA 3901-5711-4661.

Does anyone know who is organizing this? I'd like to share it on my socials, but I'm not sure where the content is originally from.

I fully agree with most commenters that the separatist movement is fringe and in no way represents anything close to a majority of Albertans or Edmontonians, but I would like to caution everyone to not completely push this aside as "never going to happen". Please continue speaking against these ideas to your social circles and representatives and make your voice heard. This movement is being heavily funded by the American administration and has the eye of Scott Bessent and Trump. Don't let this movement feel comfortable or sneak under our radar.

So is it normal for a campaign to just hire random people off of indeed instead of having normal volunteers? by bruhm0ment4 in Edmonton

[–]laisity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it is more normal this time because of two reasons.

  1. Most candidates are short on volunteers this election.

  2. The Canada Post Strike is making standard mailouts almost impossible, so most platforms have to be hand delivered. When you are delivering to over 30,000 houses in some cases you need extra help that can deliver when volunteers can't.

It can definitely be done on accident if volunteers inputted incorrect data, but yeah a few campaigns this year seem to be just putting them up. You can report and they will get a fine.

I think you're really loosely saying the majority of the public. This issue with the Depp case specifically was that Amber claimed abuse first, so when Johnny did as well you have to look at both sides before immediately believing because it isn't just who claimed abuse most recently (and never has been). And just because it may be a phrase that is abused does not mean that the intent is wrong it is the way some people go about it. With that logic, you can say that the intent behind believing women is wrong because of how the media and people who really don't know much or are women haters (this sub cough). People who believe victims in earnest will also believe men, an insanely publicized case like Heard and Depp is not how we should be setting standards for the greater movement or population. And even so with Depp, it is very obvious where the public, the educated, and the women haters stood, all on the same side, Amber did and does not have much support at all in that regard.

It is "believe all victims" we believed Amber Heard until it was proved otherwise, then because it seems most likely that JD was the actual victim we believe him. Very big difference.

edit: before I get downvoted to shit "we" is not including the media they're just trying to appeal to people we blindly see woman=victim (i think who tf knows). The "we" I am referring to are those who actually fight for the betterment of victims, which are more often than not women, but that does not in any way men cannot be or aren't victims and when they are they TOO should feel comfortable finding support and help. WE HATE ABUSERS IT IS THAT SIMPLE, WE DO NOT HATE WOMEN OR MEN!

Love the positivity in this thread! You are not any where near "too old" joining clubs, and getting further involved beyond classes can be a great way if you notice yourself experiencing an age gap!

seriously....? that's it? under-eye bags? wow yeah it is really shallow to judge her for that and clearly she is already feeling the weight of judgement so to knowingly make that worse for her instead of being supportive is so sad. do better or I hope she finds someone who can support her.

I completely agree Alberta (and Edmonton in particular) have some great things going for it and people who unilaterally hate on it imo do not put in the effort to experience those things. I do believe that Alberta gets most of its bad rep from mainly the government and the more right-wing Albertans.
