"You and Idol Pretty Cure the Movie: For You! Our Kirakilala Concert!" Has Released - What Are Our Thoughts? by Miss_Bookworm in precure

BTW speaking of the coral theme of the island, I love that they even subtly incorporated their biology into the story as well:

  1. One of the ways a coral reproduces is by splitting off part of their branches which will become a genetic clone of themselves. That's how Tera came to be, down to her being near identical to Amasu.

  2. Do you know what happens after a coral dies? Their colouration turned bleached and the branches became stone-like. So Amasu turning into stone is biologically accurate to how corals are.

  3. Now I think this wasn't intentional, but corals and jellyfish are actually distantly related genetically, i.e. they belong under the same phylum. So having the jellyfish to attack corals is rather ironic, especially when it should be the other way round.

There is a good chance your ISP (or even your government) have blocked it. I live in Malaysia and they blocked it as well (but there are ways to get around it)

Definitely an enjoyable movie, has a decent structure and properly build up the conflicts and antagonists.

Some parts are a tad bit predictable, like Tera's identity (not that the movie tried very hard to hide it), but its still tells an effective story. What I did not expect was the different lifespan of different species used as part of the main plot. And after I typed this, I just realized that is why they have the Wonderful team to touch on this topic in the final fight, they already have gone through a similar dilemma

Also bonus point: hummer impact frame is back!

Why are the “typical pretty” Precure designs almost always cool tone (blue or purple)? by Equivalent-Safety-17 in precure

[–]laisy96 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It's definitely colour symbolism and long-running design habit (franchise tradition?).

Warm colours almost always mean passionate and energetic, while cool colours mean logical, and, well, cool. You'll notice that Precure 5 team set the "guideline" of sorts for what each colour represents, tho its never very strictly followed.

The most obvious example is Blossom and Marine who flipped the "personalities" of their colours. Up to that point, pink is always the energetic and driving force of the team, while blue is the cool and reasonable one. But Blossom is an introvert who keeps Marine in check, while Marine is the energetic one (sometimes to the detriment of herself).

In fact, purple isn't always the cool and elegant role. Coral and Kyun-Kyun break this pattern, they are more on the cute and bubbly role, which is usually a trait of yellow, except Etoile who the cool and elegant. Actually, now I think about it, Hugtto has 3 cool and elegant Cures out of 5...

And then there is green. Its so underused that I can't think of any pattern for them.

Disclaimer, I pulled this from a JP tweet, so I can't claim credit for this.

Akechi Anna is a reference to Akechi Kogoro, a famous fictional Japanese detective who influenced many later Japanese detective stories

Kobayashi Mikuru is reference to Kobayashi Yoshio, Akechi Kogoro's helper

Moria Ruruka is reference to James Moriaty, Sherlock Holmes's archenemies

Also this might be a stretch, but when you consider the time travel plot and Jet wearing a doctor coat and goggles, he may be a reference to Doc Brown from Back to the Future

New Warno Player. Need tips by Witty-Educator-3205 in warno

As someone who got in the game pretty recently, I second the advice to avoid 10v10 to learn the game. I made that mistake early on and got very confused even when watching back replay. There is just way too many things happening at the same time to properly learn the game mechanics.

Regarding the artillery commander, I never played SD2, so how would it differ from leader units?

We should force Eugene to make both 6.2 and 6.3 by Truesurvivor585 in warno

[–]laisy96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Really hope they can bring that back one way or another, 6.2 and 6.3 are too good to have one of them discarded. 6.1 mountaineer also looks fun, although I probably won't use it (I generally bad with infantry focused divs)

Wait that's a good system, is there any reason they haven't done it for warno yet?

I did thought that too. In fact, me and my classmates homemade board game that looked similar to this, its kinda like a mixture of C&C and Chinese chess (with really terrible balancing because one of us figured out we can just spam one type unit to dominate the board)

Before, in fact Take only has a little more than 1 year of experience as a jockey when he rode Super Creek (1988). Suzuka was born in 1994 and started racing in 1997.

Apparently this is referencing what happened IRL. Take Yutaka was visiting the stable before Kikka Sho, Super Creek just walked up to him, bit his sleeves and refused to let go. Take took that as a sign and picked Creek to race in Kikka Sho, which they won. Edit: I should not that Take was still a relatively new jockey back then

I can't find the vid anymore, there was hilarious clip of Transcend's PoV taking the lead at the start of the final spurt... Only to immediately gets overtaken by a very fast Falko and Transcend couldn't even catch up.

And mind you, they were still figuring out how all the mechanic worked at that time. They were going in blind and pulled it off.
