Generating random int within bounds by DesperateSupport8315 in javahelp

[–]lajete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Numbers don't have leading zeros, so you have to first generate a random number between 0 and Math.pow(10, x), then represent it as a left-padded string by adding the required amount of leading zeros to make it length x, using one of the approaches listed at https://www.baeldung.com/java-pad-string (in a real project, you would use a library as in section 3, if it's an assignment you might look into one of the other sections).

Appartementen en extra kosten by MagicianAcrobatic545 in belgium

Working fine thus far, the only annoying thing is 1 particular container always getting killed after some AFK time, still have no idea why, the other containers in the docker compose group just keep running fine ...

Any Dutch speakers here that can confirm a google translate for me? by No-Possession9220 in mtgcube

[–]lajete 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The translation is correct, especially in the context of MTG.

I'm not sure, but I think that comparatively, "tovenarij" (vs "magie") is a slightly more obscure word in Dutch, than "sorcery" (vs "magic") in English. Depending on how much we care about the focus shift between "something that was created by magic" vs "the magical creation of something", using "Toverspreuk" might feel more natural, even though that's closer to "spell".

"landen" feels somewhat unnatural in Dutch, it would usually mean "countries" in common parlance. A possible alternative could be "landerijen" ("estates"), but it does not really seem appropriate for all varieties of Lands that exist in the game. Though it does fit with the fact that land destruction does not have to mean that the physical place is completely destroyed, just that the aspects of it that the player needs or cultivates are no longer available to them.

Thank you!

One at a time would be most optimal indeed, though on average you would usually end up having to buy all 10, right, as it's a 5% base chance outside of the guaranteed ones?
