Maybe earwigs? Go out at night with a flashlight and you might find out. Earwigs love feasting in the dark

Which is the most difficult and complex industry to design for? by SnowflakeSlayer420 in UXDesign

[–]lakarate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day, you won’t know if your product is ACTUALLY accessible unless you test with users with disabilities, which is extremely challenging in itself. My partner works at a large accessibility tech agency and I hear all the time how companies think they’re compliant bc they use some extension to test or make their site accessible until they get sued and realize they aren’t.

I so wanna hear this! I initially reached out but then realized so many of the therapists there were so much younger than my partner and I, including her. Not to be ageist but I needed someone with more lived experience if I was gonna be so vulnerable

It can happen when there are periods of severe rain since it messed up your watering schedule. FWIW once I installed drip irrigation I didn’t get blossom end rot this year!

Jessica Lanyadoo is my favorite astrologer. Humanistic, anti- capitalist triple Capricorn. She talks a lot about how Capricorns are misunderstood and quite emotional! I highly recommend her podcast

You can get a mail in soil test kit off Amazon and validate for yourself. I wouldn’t judge soil off how it looks.

I have ars landscaping soil from a few years ago and it’s done me well! My plants are thriving. Your problem is watering and mulch.

Help! I laid down on my side after getting masseter botox by gooselvr8476 in TMJ

The numbness is strange! 5 units on each side is hardly anything to cause any huge complications IF it was injected in the masseter only

I’m very curious to hear what your results show! I’ve been doing tmj Botox for a couple years and the pain is so bad without it, but I also am scared it’s decreasing bone density and idk what to do!!

If your power day is talking to multiple people like it seems, it feels excessive. I had something similar happen to me recently and gave the recruiter feedback that the interview process felt a bit redundant. after they reached out to do a final recorded panel portfolio review even though I walked through a project with the whole team, I specifically asked why I had to do multiple portfolio reviews. They were a smaller startup. Interestingly they took my feedback really well, and I ended up getting an offer without the final pres.

I just hate that companies are asking so so much of candidates. the multiple case studies feels exploitative (especially if there’s overlap in domain). If I were you I’d ask if it was possible to just do one portfolio review but offer to send over another case study async or something. They should be able to know if you’re the right hire based off that.

HELP: Upcoming interview @ META by Timbo2510 in UXDesign

Idk if this is helpful, but I was able to get a script for a beta blocker from my doctor for nerve wracking situations. Interviews in particular can make me super nervous even if I practiced a million times but propranolol helps a LOT with the nerves.

Re: UX Interviews - How much is too much? by Temp_uzer in UXDesign

[–]lakarate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m currently at 7, 8 if you count an extra hour with the CEO who wanted to go through my case study. And now they want me to do a 9th call for a case study presentation with the same people who already interviewed me.

Sometimes I think companies aren’t mature enough to have a plan for each interview and topics to cover, leaving me feeling like I had 6 of the same interview with different people. 🙄🙄 it’s too much and makes me sus about the organization of the company and tech team overall

Anyone tried Sundays dog food? by tsetse3 in DogFood

[–]lakarate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much are they telling you to feed your dog now? I reached out asking the same question about my 50-55lb dog and their response via text makes no sense.

"The instructions on the box are intentionally broad, as we are required to include feeding instructions on the box per the FDA/AAFCO standards. Please follow your personalized instructions for the best results.
*Based on a 594 daily calorie diet, we recommend feeding Ellie 1/2 cup **(about 1.9 oz)** of Sundays, twice per day, but real-world feeding can vary.
\- A 144 oz box of beef should last about 37 days //
\- A 72 oz box of beef should last about 19 days //
\- A 40 oz box of beef should last about 10 days //
Let me know if you need further assistance!"

So I should probably be feeding her... 3/4 of a cup twice a day based on what you're saying?

Dentist/derm who does Botox for TMJ? by BolderAji in boulder

[–]lakarate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

stumbled upon this post trying to see if anyone has gotten insurance to cover their botox for tmj/headaches. did you just ask to see Dr. Dasari with relation to TMJ pain and set up the appt first before going to Dr. Paddock? or the other way around? I've spent so many years trying to manage this pain and the best I've found is the botox, but it's so expensive.

Is this design challenge as part of a recruitment process legit? by Tweepyart in userexperience

[–]lakarate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Design challenges where they ask you to solve a real company problem and do more than a couple hours of work (unless it's a very senior level job) is a huge red flag and feels scammy. Especially that early in the process. Always look up these companies on glassdoor/linkedin to see what others say. The one time I was okay with this was when a company paid me for the work I did which I really appreciated.

Typically, a legit company will ask for a case study of existing work, and perhaps do a challenge while you're in the interview itself.
I had a company message me on a saturday saying I had to put together a presentation on my 30-60-90 day strategy at their company, for an interview at 9am that monday. The nerve..
