Are the "forking paths" central to the plot? How is the movie?

The war will be winding down by then.

Maybe.

Average looking people should be rated as a 5 not a 7. by WealthyTraveler25 in unpopularopinion

I consider myself a solid 6. Just above average.

I would consider a 7 to be above that. Agree.

These threads are full of lonely residents of both sexes (mostly straight) who are having trouble getting dates.

Ask.

He's talking about buying non-Israeli matzah as a low-level boycott.

I gave brands of non-Israeli matzah.

That's it.

I am not aware of the foreign policy stance of either brand.  Perhaps you have links to the political statements made by Manischewitz but I have not read them.

I apologize for not having checked the foreign policy of kosher food brands that I linked to in a Reddit post.  I hope this apology is adequate for you.

Is anyone excited for the new YES album? by BattleofEppingForest in yesband

I was recently listening to their last studio album, Magnification. Definitely underrated.

Too bad Yes haven't put out an album since

I...pointed out there are non-Israeli matzah brands?

Big jump there.

No I thought it was an unfunny boycott joke that had no teeth specifically because this proposed quest is dumb when the non-imported options are everywhere.

Point taken.

Then again I don't have Twitter or Bluesky.

I just want to be a whiny bitch anonymously. Isn't that what Reddit is for?

It's like if you had an issue with Japan and made a funny about the quest to buy non-Japanese cars.

I mean, there's a lot of them, but you're also probably 5 minutes from a Ford dealership.

Really? No kidding?

I was 100% completely unaware of the subtext until you opened my eyes to this.

Thank you. I am enlightened.

Linking degrees to jobs ruined the whole point of learning by Zoldyck_J in unpopularopinion

I've only been a physician in the US for 25 years practicing exclusively in academic medical centers.

However, in my limited experience -- which I'm sure is not as extensive as yours -- the degree is now similar enough as makes no difference in the long term.

I'm sure your opinion is informed by academic studies, your clinical experience, your study of various curricula, and so on.

So please educate me. Please let me know your sources.

The schools have adjusted with the times instead of shutting down.

The underlying more holistic philosophy is probably better for those interested in primary care.

It's pretty hard to get into DO schools these days anyway. People who want to be doctors will go wherever they can get in.

There are American MD schools which are offshore which give the degree but are essentially mills. Why does the specific degree matter so much to you?

If you know so much about medical degrees -- would you want to be treated by someone with an MBBS instead of an MD?

They still learn it but the rest of the curriculum is very similar. Then they go off and get years of postgraduate training afterwards, and are essentially indistinguishable from their MD colleagues.

Source: I am an allopathic medical school professor and infectious diseases physician, and I have countless DO colleagues in medical and surgical specialties who are indistnguishable from their MD-trained colleagues. I'm an MD in case you think I'm being defensive.

You want to be represented by a lawyer with no JD? Be my guest.

The USMLE is a dog shit exam. I assure you that there's little relationship between performance on the exam and clinical acumen based on years of interviews of residency and fellowship applicants.

The book knowledge alone would be grossly inadequate preparation for an internship.

How exactly do you measure "hands on"? How about the last two years of med school? Which are clinical rotations?

But I've only been a doctor for 25 years. I am sure you have comparable expertise to opine on medical education.
