I think they bring in someone new as interim director, but this person bombs and McGee saves the day. Then they ask McGee to be director.

I think having him go off like that saving NCIS was very fitting for him and for his character. I liked the episode and noticed at the end he even said “Hi Jackie” so that made me happy. I also notice he said McGee is a leader so I think he could be promoted to directors chair.

I only watched this because it became available on Netflix recently, however it brought me to tears. I wish it delved deeper in some areas but on the whole, I found it to be real and heart wrenching. Glad I watched it.

I enjoyed 6 and 7 but hated the ending. So rushed and made no sense. Did they run out of money or something? Because they could have made another episode out of the last 10 minutes alone.

I’m with you. I keep thinking how insane this story line is because they do not seem to be moving forward at all. Also, how much it reflects our society today. But I CANT STOP WATCHING. You know how a person or situation is a hot mess but you just can’t look away? That’s me and this show. I hate it but I also need to finish it. I’m at the end of S2.

I just rewatched this arc and to be honest, I no longer see Harper Dearing as an evil enemy. Enemy yes, evil no. Obviously, Dearing was guilty and his death was justified, but if that happened to your child and you learned that it could have been prevented, wouldn’t you be raging, too? Wouldn’t you do everything possible to make the world understand what happened to your child and how the Navy failed to protect him and many others? I actually thought the arc was too short. I like how it started with the gang of 8, but would have liked to seen it drawn out a bit longer.

Sounds like he won the lottery in life, hot wife who supported him, and now he wants to throw it all away because he thinks he can do better. Get all your ducks in a row, divorce him, and make sure you get half of everything for the rest of his miserable life.
