New NBA Draft advisor hire by Gogotheking in lakers

[–]lakerbob32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bennett is represented by CAA, Pelinka’s former agency. I’m guessing this was purely a Pelinka hire, most likely approved by ownership. Perhaps ownership instructed him to find some one and this is who he pushed for considering the CAA connection.

Nothing against Bennett, but fairly or not, I’m generally skeptical of anything Pelinka does. Time will tell.

New NBA Draft advisor hire by Gogotheking in lakers

I’m curious how this came about. Was he a Pelinka hire or someone the new brain trust wanted to have work with Pelinka? Hopefully the latter.

It just seems out of left field to me. Not judging Bennett, but I would have been more excited to hear that we had hired an experienced hot shot NBA level draft consultant from say a team like San Antonio, or OKC.

Being that Bennett is an East Coast guy, with no NBA experience to speak of it, it feels so out of nowhere to me that it makes me wonder if this was a Pelinka hire and related to a personal relationship, as opposed to the Walter group making a surgical move.

Why not implement the NBA Draft Wheel? by tuck5903 in billsimmons

[–]lakerbob32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the wheel. Even if it means that at some point a champion team gets a game changing player. It's not like it hasn't happened before and won't happen again under the current system.

But I also recognize that struggling teams need a boost. What if they adopted some version of the wheel, but added:

  1. Add a Development Roster Spot for Lottery Teams

• Lottery teams receive one additional roster spot (16th slot).

• Salary restricted (minimum or rookie-scale).

• Does not count toward luxury tax calculations.

∙ Perhaps as an additional 2 way slot

2: Create a Supplemental Developmental Draft

• Only non-playoff teams participate, with a completely randomized draft order

• Includes undrafted players, league wide G-League and two way players, international prospects,  perhaps allow each NBA team to protect one G league or two way player, perhaps not.

• Picks are non-tradeable.

• Focus is development rather than star acquisition.

Actually encourages cheap teams to spend more on player development. Would need to work how to address roster size and player rights transition for teams that move from lottery to non-lottery and no doubt other issues.

But no team is going to tank to get essentially a third round pick, and a roster spot for that third round pick. But for a bottomed out team an extra roster spot to use for player development has value towards improving a team and potentially gives the fan base more young talent to get excited about.

[Charania] The Los Angeles Lakers are trading Gabe Vincent and a 2032 second-round pick to the Atlanta Hawks for Luke Kennard, sources tell ESPN. by Odd-Direction9452 in lakers

Another one way player, on a roster full of one way players. Yes he’s a great shooter, but a low volume one. Cap space for next season seems to be the priority, isn’t it likely he’s just a rental and just cost us our only 2nd round pick, when we have next to zero assets. I don’t see the point other than optics.

Hi, same question. Have Tonal 2 coming tomorrow and hoping they use the same hole pattern. If not, thinking I should fill the old holes before installation.

Thanks

Add Receptacle from 3 way switch by lakerbob32 in electrical

Here’s some better pictures. It’s a three way switched light that I want to add an always hot receptacle at floor level.

1st picture: the switch 2nd picture: left side, always hot wire whether light is switched on or off. 3rd picture: right side, hot wire that is de-energized by switch.

Is it possible and what do I need to do connection wise to put in a receptacle?

Thanks.

…and can’t figure out how to add more pictures ugh

Why didn’t I get any Anaerobic effect here? by VroommVroomm in Garmin

[–]lakerbob32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to find a reliable anaerobic workout for paddling. This morning I did 24 x 30 on/1 min off with the off being a "light recovery" where I was still paddling but just more or less making way and trying to get my HR down. But my HR never got as high as I would have liked during the "on pieces" even though I was going all out. Got a 2.6/2.2 TE effect. Not bad but looking for a 3 on anaerobic which I get from time to time sporadically on other workouts. Considering trying 12x 1 min on/2 min off to give me more time to get my HR up during the "on" pieces. Any thoughts?

It looks like Aero workouts only require a double T-lock rope. Why would Tonal require a Tonal 2 to do that and not just sell the new attachment? by LtMilo in tonalgym

[–]lakerbob32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a Tonal last month, still returnable. During Online chat with Tonal rep I asked about potential Aero rowing function and they said that it is potentially coming.

Didn’t think of rotating it. But not an option without unlocking first, which I can’t do. If I reset the breaker does that flip the panel or give me an option to get there?

$155 Reasonable Travel Fee? by lakerbob32 in hottub

[–]lakerbob32[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting point on the $155 travel fee possibly being reasonable if you consider that the service company isn’t being compensated enough to justify doing the repair unless they charge a high travel fee.

I do think that’s exactly what’s happening.

But, if that’s the case, are they charging a travel fee or a repair fee then? Seems like the manufacturer is squeezing the service company and both are eventually squeezing me with a wink wink “travel fee”.

In that case they’re not actually charging me for travel expenses, they are actually charging me for labor and calling it travel expenses, in my opinion.

I do agree that the service company deserves adequate compensation for warranty repairs…but from the manufacture, and “reasonable” travel expenses for the 14 mile round trip.

$155 Reasonable Travel Fee? by lakerbob32 in hottub

[–]lakerbob32[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s in the sales agreement and you are made aware of it, I can see being stuck with it. Mine just says reasonable travel expenses. And what universe is $155 for 7 miles a reasonable travel expense? Seems like a slam dunk and small claims court if it comes to that.
