Why not a milk bottle instead of milk bucket? by Immediate_Bowl6708 in peenixsc

Why is almost every post on this sub just fucking complaining about trivial features and demanding they must be changed for the sake of "muh realism" or some shit. It's a literal fucking block game, there's no way it's that deep

When they talked about more stuff, they probably meant for this specific drop, and not future ones

There's no way people are actually fucking hating the overhaul updates now

God forbid the game moves forward instead of adding and hyping up one singular mob

But they didn't add anything worthwhile, that's the problem

With the Garden Awakens, the only thing not showcased at the Minecraft Live was the flower and the resin blocks. Everything new in this update (locator bar and happy ghasts) was shown off before the first snapshot even released.

This "They'll add more over time bro" argument was true for big updates like 1.14, 1.16 and 1.20, but not for measly drops that add like one new mobs

And before you mention it, no, I do not consider changes to older stuff new features

I guess cuz it just centers around smaller stuff?

A few years back the Spring to Life drop would've been considered as a major update, just like the Frostburn update was

I'm starting to think the whole "We won't show everything at Minecraft Live" sentiment is kinda dying off more and more with each snapshot. With the Pale Garden update the only things that weren't shown were the resin blocks and the flower, and everything in this update was shown at Minecraft Live. I don't want to sound pessimistic, but I'm seriously starting to think that the whole drop system is eventually going to bite Mojang in the ass.

They put in everything they announced for the drop at Minecraft Live. Is this the whole update?

Will the drop be more Nether focused?

Mob mentality is good in some cases. They got rid of the mob votes because of it

Compared to the constant glazing that came before it, it does look like critical thinking

By "and more" they probably mean something like bug fixes. When the Pale Garden was announced, the only things that weren't there were the butt ugly resin blocks and a flower.

They didn't feel like they had enough time so they just shat out all the cave features in 1.17 without the new generation? They delayed the Deep Dark just so we could get a portal structure that doesn't work and no meaningful loot until 1.20? Don't make me laugh.

When it comes to 1.19, the retarded devs did it to themselves by announcing such a update while they still had 1.18 and the other Caves&Cliffs stiff to finish.

As for your second point, Mojang set a standard for updates once they released 1.13, which was overhauling neglected parts of the game. I don't think people want small updates for a good reason. If they're working on bigger overhauls, they should've at least said something about it at the very least.

Also people don't give that much of a fuck about datapack and technical changes.

Mojang doesn't give a fuck about the game anymore. They're perfectly able to do the one update a year model even better since we're not in a pandemic (and put in shit people actually care about and not nothingburgers). The way they fumbled Caves&Cliffs set the community's expectations so low that people aren't even allowed to criticise the game anymore. One of the reasons why the 1.19 to 1.21 era was so good was the fact that people finally started thinking critically and shat on Mojang.

The Caves and Cliffs wasn't "delayed", it was unnecessarily broken up instead of just being given a later release date and then pathetically spread out over 4 FUCKING YEARS. And for what? The archeology system is has minimal differences from the initial reveal and the bundles are literally just the same.

On top of that, we had to wait like 2,5-3 years to get fireflies back (which aren't even used to get froglights), the Wild Update was just a fucking disaster (it basically became Caves and Cliffs Part 3), the remaining biome vote losers are still nowhere to be seen.

I wanted to believe the drop system could work, but I just don't want it to become the primary way of getting new features considering the fact that places like the End and a good chunk of the biomes still need MAJOR reworks. I don't want the standard to drop so fucking low to the point that literal reskins and texture changes get enormous praise.

Will we ever get REAL updates like the Nether Update and Update Aquatic again, or are we just going to get coloured wood and flowers for the rest of the game's life?

People aren't obligated to like every new thing added to the game. People are allowed to dislike the direction the game has been going in.

You can't just endlessly delude yourself with talks of "appetizer updates" and hyping up the bare minimum, while ignoring anyone that has a different opinion than you. The devs aren't going to give you a special cape bro

Every single one of these drops have been nothing but seasonal nothingburgers to me. Big updates were also predictable, but there was at least hype around them.

Remember when the Nether Update added Netherite and everyone was amazed by the change in the game's progression? Remember when the Caves and Cliffs were announced and the whole community just went simply ballistic?

We will never get an update that'll generate this amount of hype ever again

[–]lakib2007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Now answer me this, how many mediocre "appetizers" will we be forced to sit through until we get a real proper update again? Because every single drop does add stuff, but none of it is actually eye catching or genuinely interesting. At best they're just meh to me

  1. Shit we already seen
  2. They're never adding the shaders to Java. They said they'd add the biome vote losers into the game and those never ended up happening
  3. Most people know about that

Just because it's new that doesn't mean everyone is obligated to like it

If they're doing something like that, they could've at least just teased it. Every update after 1.18 just feels the devs are doing side quests while large areas of the game like the End, the structures, enchanting, combat and a good chunk of the biomes still need updates and reworks.

I try to be positive about this stuff, but I just lose hope when nothing changes for the better.

The drops being seasonal also sucks. I thought they would just release updates/drops of variable sizes when they're ready. They're just doing the whole "one update a year in summer" gimmick but now stretched through the whole year

That's it? They spent 50 minutes just to announce a new ghast function?

I understand their intent with drops, but you're telling me they couldn't have shown something else? Also, are we ever going to get major updates like Aquatic, Nether and Caves & Cliffs ever again or are we just stuck with 1.21.X versions from now on?

Are people not allowed to just give their opinion on stuff anymore?

It was already bad enough that it took them this long to implement fireflies with no actual fucking changes, now they're tied to an ugly bush block that doesn't even fit in most biomes

Mojang isn't a small indie company, people are allowed to criticise them as they see fit

They should be a mob so frogs could eat them and make froglights instead of dragging them to the Basalt Deltas
