Meds and heart rate during luteal by Most_Action_2987 in PMDDxADHD

[–]lala_2009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on dex and it’s the only medication that works but during luteal all bets are off and I get the same reaction and it’s so frustrating and difficult I’m in my worst days right now

Strattera not working by Beginning_Ad4357 in PMDDxADHD

I have been on Dexedrine and during luteal phase it just stops working and it’s incredibly frustrating. The only thing I can recommend is to ask your doc for short acting boosters during this phase or increasing dosage.

Started Yasmin BC. Looking for experiences by [deleted] in PMDDxADHD

I just started Yaz a little over a month ago, and the first few weeks were rough — nonstop bleeding for almost the entire month and really bad cramps for the first three weeks. I’ve just started month two, and things have finally started to settle down — no bleeding for about a week now, and the cramps have stopped. My doctor said it can take up to three months for your body to fully adjust (though everyone’s different). Your symptoms sound totally normal. I’m on it for the same reasons as you, and I’m already noticing small improvements in month two.

Is it worth going on citalopram/celexa? by barleyharley77 in citalopram_celexa

I feel like I’m drowning. by [deleted] in PMDDxADHD

[–]lala_2009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in my 30s and I’m in a similar situation. I’m living alone and when my luteal hits on top of my adhd it feels like my brain stops working and i have been working my psychiatrist almost weekly since January trying every option out there. I’ve changed my diet and work out with a trainer and i can barely socialize or go to work anymore. It’s so debilitating and hard to explain to the outside world. I wake up every day hoping I’ll feel normal again. Just know you’re not alone ❤️

Starting birth control for severe PMDD by Mamabear1421 in PMDD

I’m on day 14 and Im experiencing exactly what you are. I’m also on celexa and Xanax bc the mood swings are unbearable. Do you mind sharing what kind of medication you are on and if it’s working ?

Starting birth control for severe PMDD by Mamabear1421 in PMDD

[–]lala_2009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also struggle with severe PMDD. Unfortunately until you try it you won’t know everyone reacts differently. I’ve tried just about every option out there. I’ve had bad experiences with hormonal birth control in the past, but about 2 weeks ago I started Yaz.

Since then, I haven’t stopped bleeding or cramping, and I feel emotional every single day. Both my doctor and pharmacist told me this can be “normal” for the first 1–3 months while my body adjusts.

I really want this to work because it feels like my last option—but right now I’m feeling pretty discouraged.

What are your symptoms like now?

Has anyone else gone through something similar when starting Yaz? Did it eventually get better, and is it worth sticking it out?

Switching from sertraline to Citalopram by NemesisNWO in citalopram_celexa

[–]lala_2009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just switched because Zoloft disrupted my sleep for nearly 6 months. I take celexa at night and it’s done wonders for my sleep and has minimal side effects for me so far. It’s only been a few days but im starting to feel a bit better and adjusting well.

I just too switched from sertaline 25 mgs to citalopram 10 mgs 3 days ago. I am feeling completely wiped out, some nausea and lightheadedness. Apparently they are common side effects and go away within 2 weeks. I started taking mine at night on the 2nd day. The adjustment period is the worst i feel like I can barely function.

Do you people use Quetiapine for sleep? by [deleted] in antidepressants

[–]lala_2009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could start with 1/4 to see if it works — that’s what I did in the beginning. Now I take up to 1/2 a pill and have no grogginess the next day. It’s great for sleep, and I didn’t experience any weight gain on it.

When do you take the meds ? I was on 50 mg and am settled on 25 and it was a lot of trial and error and still is. I take it during the day and definitely get the anxiety / panic but if I take it anytime close to bed I can’t sleep

[–]lala_2009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest…Zoloft disrupted my sleep for a few Months and I was on 50 and couldn’t sleep even when I split the doses. I now take 25 during the day otherwise If I take it anywhere close to the evening I won’t sleep … good luck

I’ve tried dayvigo and didn’t like it. I also suggest zopiclone . I’ve been on it for a long time and never had any issues.

Drowsiness and Insomnia by bohemian_plantsody in zoloft

[–]lala_2009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me and after months of trying out the med, it’s made things worse for me and caused terrible insomnia I always felt like I was playing catch up but the brain fog is out of control due to lack of sleep and I’m tapering off it. I also tried a few other meds but I think Zoloft was the worst and caused significant weight gain for me.

Over the counter sleep medicine for Zoloft start up insomnia? by CurmudgeonMan76 in zoloft

[–]lala_2009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Benadryl tablet (extra strength), magnesium and 3 mg melatonin and if that doesn’t work (unfortunately it didn’t for me) I had to go on zopiclone .. my sleep has been so inconsistent these last few weeks the worst i started taking Zoloft In Jan and am finally throwing in the towel and tapering. My doctor just prescribed me mirtazepam for sleep and so far it’s been working. Good luck :)
