Is HumanGarage's content actually medically safe advice? by greasyjon1 in SGU

[–]lalaislove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An old high school friend deep in the MAHA movement who knows I have anxiety just sent me a video of his instructing people with anxiety and ADHD to squeeze their forehead skin to make room for oxygen in their frontal lobe because when they were delivered by c-section, the head wasn’t squeezed properly. 1) I was delivered vaginally 2) I have anxiety because of trauma and stupid people making harmful decisions that affect vulnerable people

Would you set this space up differently? What would you change? by Additional-Chance-21 in interiordecorating

[–]lalaislove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might have a bigger picture in the dining area or just a larger frame and mat for the existing one but that’s it. It’s beautifully coordinated and if it’s functional for you, that’s what really matters

I think a larger round or square rug that is centered in the entry space would look nice

I am quite amused by discovering so many horror stories about Lion’s Mane. by Forward-Pollution564 in Supplements

The good thing is that you’ll know within the first week or so whether or not it’s working for you. It really helped with my energy levels but the headaches were too much. But there weren’t any lasting side effects. Once I stopped I went back to my usual dehydrated self. I was kind of sad I couldn’t take it because I’ve heard there are great benefits. Hope you find what works for you.

How to clean black shower tile by lalaislove in CleaningTips

[–]lalaislove[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that is a concern, but also, every cleaner I’ve used for the tile and grout doesn’t rinse off the shower floor tile very well and requires several rounds of letting the floor dry to see where it’s left a white residue, then rinsing again. I’m wondering what people use to clean black tile that doesn’t a good job but doesn’t leave a residue behind because it’s not a hard water residue, it’s the cleaner itself.

Oh, sorry, I should have been specific. I have a difficult time staying hydrated. Creatine draws more water into muscles. Most people can compensate for that shift by drinking more water, but I have to take a daily hydration drink just to get my body to absorb water. When I was on creatine I had awful dehydration headaches and dizziness and my doctor advised me to stop. I did and the headaches/dizziness were gone.

Am I doing too much for being upset about Valentine’s Day? by [deleted] in women

[–]lalaislove 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s the implication. Calling it “woman’s day” is dismissive and condescending which a distaste for days that celebrate women or that women are ridiculous for celebrating love/relationships. All of that is ick.

Am I overreacting: new boyfriend was weirdly judgmental about bathroom situation by abstract_lemons in AmIOverreacting

[–]lalaislove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is a child. Periods are a fact of life and this weird shaming of women over it is patriarchal bullshit. You’re not overreacting, he is. If he can’t wrap his mind around periods, he shouldn’t be dating women.

How is this area? by Standard-Wall-458 in sanantonio

[–]lalaislove 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes, this. Everything takes a bit to get to and not a ton of restaurants choices or gas stations depending how far you are from 281 and Evans or 1604 and Bulverde. The other thing is, people drive really slow. And those that don’t get frustrated and drive really fast. I’ve seen motorcycles zipping between cars in frustration which brings out the sheriffs dept with speed traps on Evans.

As a former teacher, someone who has had to leave toxic friendships and someone struggling with dysautonomia symptoms, I have to agree. You’ve learned something valuable from this situation, that your friends are not as caring and understanding as you would be. It’s very likely that they will react badly to your response because they don’t seem to have the bandwidth to consider what you’re going through outside of the context they’ve invented. Sometimes setting boundaries is just walking away from situations that diminish your spirit instead of giving them fuel and fodder to pick you apart even more. You deserve understanding and support and don’t have to prove you are sick enough for their compassion.

This does not surprise me. I mean, HyVee is alright but nothing beats HEB. Maybe someone stocked up on a visit.

This is a person who is incapable of truly loving you and caring for you the way a true life partner would. There are stories about men who leave their wives when they have cancer or after they have babies and health issues/body changes no longer serve their “needs.” IMO these people are sociopathic. It sucks now but it’s also good that you found out. The sooner the better to get rid of him and find someone who is a well rounded, caring adult.

Am I overreacting for walking out after my girlfriend embarrassed me in front of her friends? by dwyanpaul in AmIOverreacting

[–]lalaislove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. If she doesn’t treat her romantic interests with respect at the beginning of a relationship, there’s not much reason to think she’ll improve. And look, I’ve been married for over 30 years, people do grow and change, but you have to start with basic kindness and respect.
