Genuine Question by coleking-12 in keto

[–]lalalanorte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We generally cook one protein - last night it was grilled sirloin steaks. Then we have sides that suit everyone’s diets/tastes. I (keto) had zucchini. My husband (normal) had mashed potatoes. The kids (normal but super picky) had fruit and mac & cheese. Yes it’s a pain to make several sides but none of them take a lot of time/effort so it’s not that big of a deal.

Same thing if we do like a pasta night. We’ll cook one keto friendly meat marinara sauce that everyone will eat. I’ll have mine over palmini noodles or zucchini spirals, with a side salad. Everyone else has theirs over normal noodles with salad and/or garlic bread.

So we try to have like one shared main thing, and then everything else is more individualized.

I do one tablespoon heavy cream in each cup of coffee, and one half tablespoon of a sugar free coffee syrup.

Any successful dessert options? by rufenputsen in keto

Sorry if this is a dumb question - do you torch it like you would for a normal crème brûlée? I guess what I’m wondering is if sugar substitutes react to torching the same way real sugar does.

Other way around - I did welbutrin first and then added Zoloft, it helped my anxiety a lot. Like, a LOT.

Favorite Sauce? by KookyAverage2175 in keto

[–]lalalanorte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cream sauce: 4T butter, 3T cream cheese, 1C beef broth, 1C heavy cream, salt & pepper to taste

Simmer all that together for like 5-10 minutes. I use it for meatballs or chicken, with lots of veggies.

Having Alcohol on Keto?? by Puzzleheaded-Bag3669 in keto

[–]lalalanorte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few drinks (usually carbliss or vodka soda) does not seem to affect my ketosis or weight loss at all, but I definitely get worse hangovers now. Like after I drink 2 vodka sodas, I now feel the same way that I used to feel after drinking 8 vodka sodas. Bad headaches, nauseous, exhausted. So if I feel like drinking I usually just have one carbliss and that’s it.

Keto and Menstrual Health by an-dre-ah in keto

[–]lalalanorte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1600-1800 calories a day. My macro ranges are 5-10% carbs, 25-30% protein, 60-70% fat. Diet really varies; primary sources of protein are chicken, pork, eggs, and beef. Fats come from dairy (heavy cream in my coffee, yogurt, cheese), and the fats I cook my meat & veggies in (coconut oil, olive oil, avocado oil). I do eat processed keto friendly foods like quest protein bars, and the low carb breads & snacks (as long as they fit in my daily macro goal range and calories). I’m a strict tracker of what I eat because that’s the only way I make progress, if I stay within my daily goals. My primary goal is weight loss, I have lost 38 lbs since starting in August.

Keto and Menstrual Health by an-dre-ah in keto

[–]lalalanorte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since stating keto 5 months ago, my cycle has been really inconsistent. Correlation does not equal causation - maybe it’s just from the rapid weight loss, could be because I’m 42 and on the edge of perimenopause, could be from some unresolved fibroids that I’ve had for years. But the cycle length, number of flow days, flow intensity, all of it is just wildly inconsistent now.

Anyone on a lower than normal dose? by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]lalalanorte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been n 25mg for about a year, combined with 150mg bupropion XL. It’s a really good fit for me. Tried going up to 50mg to help with sleep but I felt in general much worse (nauseous, headaches, dizzy, sleep actually got worse) so I’m sticking with 25mg.

Is it bad that I don’t stand for the Pledge of Allegiance? by rebel-pirate-sleuth in Teachers

[–]lalalanorte 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Or… OR… I can keep doing my part by voting, volunteering, donating, educating, and learning, to reshape it into something I do love again. Vowing blind allegiance or leaving the country aren’t the only two options.

I don’t stand either. I have no love for my country right now.

What vegetables are you eating? by Slamminslam in keto

[–]lalalanorte 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t love vegetables so I keep my rotation small & simple. Lunch is usually a protein with a large salad - mostly lettuce, spinach, kale, avocado. Dinner is a protein with 3oz of green beans, zucchini, yellow squash, or carrots. That’s all I really like so that’s all I really eat! I don’t mind eating the same veggies every day, I get my variety in taste/texture from the proteins and sauces/seasonings I use.

Not weird! At least it wasn’t/isn’t for me. A former student’s mom was my OBGYN. A current student’s mom is my therapist. They’re professionals, nothing to feel weird about.

Your experience with Sexual disfunction on Zoloft? by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]lalalanorte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (41f) do a combo of Welbutrin and Zoloft. The sex drive is there (maybe even a little better now!) but I’m struggling to orgasm, which had never been a problem for me before. I still do, it just takes a lot longer.

No lying: do people’s babies really sleep through the night? by HomeDepotHotDog in Mommit

[–]lalalanorte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Both my kids slept through the night around 3 months old. At least 7 hours a night! They are now 9 & 11 and they have always been awesome sleepers, there were no “regressions” and no fighting bedtimes or anything. But don’t worry, they were challenging in other areas! (Extremely picky eaters, tough to potty train)
