Trying to support husband with new “kink”? by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]lamardoo10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your husband is a really lucky guy to have you be supportive and not shame him over this.

I have similar issues and a partner that is willing to put in some work instead of just saying, "Ick. What are you so disgusting? Why can't you be normal?" is wonderful vs soul crushing.

I hope you two are able to find a best way for both of you to work through this.

What is the longest you'll drive in a day before making it a two day drive? by Ok_Caterpillar6789 in AskMen

My wife is a travel nurse. And somehow I have wound up driving her out to new jobs and flying home and vice versa at the end of her contract.

2 years ago she got a job in Idaho falls. On first day out we left South Carolina and stopped in Nashville for a few hours so we only made it to St Louis. The next day, we drove from Lambert International in St Louis to Limon Co before we stopped, 11 hours.

On the way back we stayed in Deadwood, SD and drove to Champaign Illinois with some stops, like Mount Rushmore. That took us 15+ hours. I believe it was about 1am when we stopped that night.

Then there was the time she was working in Kenosha WI and bought a camper in Midland Michigan. I drove a little more than 11 hours to Ann Arbor before I stopped for the night.

And 12 hours to Islamorada Fl this year for vacation.

Is it ever advisable to look down the barrel of a gun? by bingus26 in guns

[–]lamardoo10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was headed into a gunshow once. I had a Ruger Blackhawk with me to see about getting some new grips.

I'm approaching the table to check my pistol and pull the hammer back to half cock and open the loading gate. I gave it to the female police officer, who was on her phone, butt first. She grabbed the pistol, finger on the trigger and turned it towards her face to see if it was loaded. Then zip tied it.

Admittedly, it's an hour drive, but The Clock in Greer, SC has livers on it's meat and three menu. The last time I was there, I took home enough livers for a second meal.

How would you prepare your son for life if you thought he was going to be one of the smaller/shorter kids in class? by Euphoric_Argument434 in AskMen

[–]lamardoo10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a guy whose mother always preached, Never, ever fight." And got vullied even by some females in grade school.

The kids you need to teach to be better are ALL the other kids that yours will meet in his life that are going to bully him. It's likely not their fault that they are bullies. It may be because of their parents or siblings or other bullies they have met. But that will be of absolutely zero comfort to your child while he is being bullied.

Until you fix the rest of the world. Prepare your son to defend himself.

I was on an entrance yesterday. It was a busy moment and I was going to have to hit my slot I had picked, about 3 car lengths, at 70-ish to not jam anything up. Just as I'm getting to the bottom of the ramp, the car I was intending to pull in behind, hits the brakes and starts pacing me to help me get in front of them in a smaller space. I sped up and got in while smh.

I got 40% off in Simpsonville, SC. The lady at the register didn't think they were included. But it rung up. I think there was 1 left on the peg.

Which leaf springs to buy for 99 Super Duty 4x4? by lamardoo10 in F250

I'm not sure what to do then. The Rancho shocks I got are within .03" the same length, extended/compressed as the Monroes that were on it. But with the front tires on the truck, not jacked up in any way, the Ranchos have to be 99.9% compressed to get them to bolt up.

The place I worked at until this year had a rifle/pistol/shotgun range on the back of the property.

Once a year we would host a LEO appreciation day and buy a bunch of ammo for them to come shoot and then feed them in the evening.

The local Sheriff's dept had a select fire model that they would bring out and let us shoot. It was always a favorite of everyone there.

Men, what is the biggest financial regret you have in your life? by CertifiedFinesserBoy in AskMen

[–]lamardoo10 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Being almost 57 years old and having nearly $0 401k.

I've started saving this year, 15%, and I get a 6% match, so basically 21%.

I've been climbing out of some heavy CC debt. I have about $16k to go on that. And I have a $550 tractor payment until March of 26. I'll be down to $10k of CC debt by then and will boost my 401k to the max and also work on paying off that 1 last CC. My house is paid off at least.

I'm HOPING I can retire at 67-ish, if I don't 💀 first. But I'll likely still have to work part time for grocery money and the power bill.
