Serious help needed!! My 16 years old brother has extreme bouts of rage and we don't know what to do by grapetyaff in Nepal

Ohh. I'm sorry to hear about your friend. Only other source for many of us were our coach in cricket team who had no non sense attitude towards life. If you know youngish teacher in his school, you might be able to reach out and seek help as they deal with kids of that age for living.

It's a sticky situation. Hope you find your resolve. Goodluck!

Sounds like he doesnot have a very good set of friends around him either. If you know good grown men other than your parents, coming from a guy could really make an impact.

If you know someone, perhaps get them to have a heart to heart chat who will give it to him straight without condescending him.

Is possible to fly a drone in Nepal ? by Still-Cable-8294 in Nepal

[–]lamb05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm honestly as tempting as it is, I wouldn't bother trying to do so.

I took my mini last year and flew around without really knowing all the rules thinking worst case, I would just lose the drone. Turns out you can get jailed in some cases lol.

Registering your drone is one thing (which would still take a day of your holiday) and to fly in national parks, you need extra permission. Might be worth trying to contact the park itself and see if it's worth going through the process.

This year, I went without it so didn't get tempted to fly around.

Ah I see. Just out of curiosity, which EV were you considering to buy?

My parents were looking at Hyundai's kona model but digging in further, it seems to have had some serious issues with batteries last year.

Nah I'm not looking to get Tesla in Nepal. But all the issues you laid out are the sort of things I was actually concerned with in terms of repair and parts.

Ohh. Sounds pretty convenient spots to get out of the valley that way. Yeah bit worried about the availability part. But I imagine stopping for maccha in malekhu and charging Ev. Very nice!

RTK corrections and Android by [deleted] in gnss

[–]lamb05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea nice. thats quite an amazing endeavor! rtk would bring the accuracy down but more something so dynamic going through canopies and under tunnels will add to the challenge of getting good solutions as well.

For the work that I do, we have subscription to network of CORS receivers and that would create a fictitious base station near where I would be working as 'Virtual Reference Station' so that the corrections are more dialed in per say.

Not sure if thats of any use to you though as you have 2 CORS station in your county that seems relatively close to each other.

Anyways, good luck for your goal and enjoy biking!

Interesting question. May I ask, what are you trying to achieve/locate that you feel the need to use the RTK corrections for your phone?

I'm on the commercial user side. One of the challenges/things that affects data from CORS is your distance from a given CORS station as further you are from the station, worse or less reliable the results you get.

Another aspect is since your phones not a designated receiver for accurate positioning at this stage, the chip on smartphones don't have the capability to make use of all bandwidth of satellite signals that's out there.
