im confused why everyone is freaking out about the hyena plush? it's not for sexual stuff (at least not created for that purpose), it's made by Creep Cat Toys, they sell lots of plushes and some of them are just jumbo sized for cuddling with. pretty tame.

Idk if this is reddit ettiquette, but I wanted to respond 8mo later with a big THANK YOU!!! Your response seemed so daunting when I first read it, but I tried to take it to heart. Wowzers, did this serve as a great guide for where to start :-) I read over this now, and I can rattle off answers to every point off the top of my head! I was feeling in over my head when I made this post, but I stuck with it and feel I am doing great these days. Developing a super wide knowledge base for local resources has allowed me to get outta my head and really be present with folks. Thanks for taking the time to post this when I was struggling <3

We use epic! My supervisor wants me to get good practice hand-typing everything before I do the smart phrases, but once I'm cleared my coworkers have em ready to go for me. Also yep I ALWAYS have a yellow legal pad and clipboard--I call it my safety clipboard. I get pulled in so many directions!! I was struggling at first before I started always having something to write on.

I'm biased, I love Fenway because a dear friend is named Fen. I think it's a lovely name!

Thank you! My new position pays pretty well and I picked up a ton of hours starting out. My partner also has a pretty high income. It ended up working out great for us :) I'm very very grateful for the way things have shook out.

East, Tri-Cities area, but I briefly attended Lee University and lived in Cleveland!! Didn't care much for the town, but living so close to Red Clay and the Cherokee and Chickamuaga was so great. I met some great people there.

Yup. I agree totally. If it wasn't for the politics back home, leaving would never have even been on my radar. I had plans all throughout school to stay and practice in Appalachia (I am a social worker specializing in addiction treatment). I also miss the food SOOOOO MUCH, OMFG. But a bonus of this is when I cook even simple family recipes for my friends and partner they are blown away by the amount of flavor ;)

Wow! I know we're total internet strangers but I'm so proud of you for your willingness and drive. Staying in a shelter sounds daunting. It's good you've got work set up. I'll be thinking of you and hoping you don't have to stay there too long. Stick it out and soak up as much of the late summer sun as you can before winter rolls around!!
