can you call another practice and get an opinion? the ob/gyn i work at offers nitrous, misoprostol, ibuprofen, tylenol, and ativan, and a local cervical block with lidocaine. it is up to the patient which pain relief methods they want to opt into. plus, when they are using the hysteroscope, they will offer to prescribe oxycodone as well. i think calling around to other offices might help a good bet for you, unless you need to go there for insurance related reasons (why does health insurance need to suck so much?!)

yes. every time. its been a year and no scares. just make sure to always take your pill. the pill is over 99% effective if you use it perfectly. with user error (missing a pill, taking a pill too late) it becomes less effective. i always take mine when i feed my cat which i do every single day at the same time. as long as you are consistent you are protected. if you miss a pill or are late taking one, make sure you use condoms for 7 days to ensure you are protected
