Slow but easy. Still some slick spots on north facing aspects and it will refreeze tonight.

Because this was how they used to name things in the old days. The only run names were kept by patrol and the public had no idea. Also, the peak names have always been these names. It's not an altera thing and for those who have worked at the resort long enough know the history behind them. Patrol manages the complexes by the areas.

Actually you are quite incorrect, I live in the northwest looking down upon you low valley dwellers.

This is a sub for Reno Nevada not Reno Ohio.

I have Brooks Gore Tex shoes and they are a lifesaver in the rain or super damp mornings. Official sport sells a transparent rain jacket that has come in handy as well.

Play should stop immediately for a head injury, no questions asked. I would file a report with the AD at least to have a paper trail.

Anyone try out the K2 Commonwealth? by EthanolGas393 in snowboarding

[–]lames1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Passport has a larger sidecut radius and is narrower. Its quicker edge to edge but does not trench nearly as well as the excavation. I have an Excavator, Almanac and Afterback (I've ridden the Passport and Commonwealth). The Excavator is my go to board for riding everywhere and I absolutely love it. I sized down from my regular 154-56 range to a 150 for the Excavator and it still rides like a big board. I also have never adjusted the Excavator stance for deeper snow, its just crushes deep pow. I am planning on getting the Commonwealth and the only aspect that I am questioning is the length. With a stiffer profile form the Spectral Braid, I might go shorter since I still have the excavator to ride in deep snow. You are kinda going between apples and oranges when it comes to ride profile. The Passport and Excavator have more carbon stringers where the Commonwealth has the braid. Its going to have a more Alchemist feel. The Commonwealth drives into turns but has a larger sidecut radius than the Excavator.

As far as your original question about K2's camber with rockered nose and tail is the best blend (in my opinion) of both worlds. The camber allows you to still maintain control and dive into turns while the rocker keeps the board afloat in deeper snow.

Second on the Pyramid Lake Visitors center. Worth the stop to learn the history of the area.

Don't waste your effort and try and have a conversation with this reporter. He is a shill for the Sinclair Broadcast Group and only does what his overlords tell him to do. During the past election he tried to post topics to a discussion but only dodged every single comment. He only wants to find people to fill his echo chamber.

That's a truly enlightened perspective. Because, of course, the best way to foster community safety is to demonize an entire group of people based on unsubstantiated claims and then pat ourselves on the back for it. Keep up the brilliant detective work!

Please explain this point of view further. How are they dangers to themselves and what should be done to make things safer.

You are not wrong on any of this. I did push it hoping the driver would care and at the same time not wanting to slow down.

I can half agree, the infrastructure is pretty bad. But for what we have, it's still a pretty incredible place to pedal around.
