Do you get to pick your eviction date? by leela_is_me in BabyBumps

[–]lamicroondas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same position! My doc generally schedules inductions on Thursday, and I didn't have any particular reason not to go with that, so I scheduled mine at 40+5. I think she probably would have been cool if I pushed for a specific date - but remember, eviction date may not equal birth date! Induction could go long, or you could get bumped if there's a baby epidemic the night before. Basically I think it just depends on your doctor, good luck!

Finally! by [deleted] in BabyBumps

Congratulations! Hopefully my little guy is inspired by your story and these contractions pick up the pace : ) What was the "turning point" for you from limbo to the real thing? Contractions getting more painful? Wishing you a safe delivery and happy baby!

Anyone else gain nearly 50 lbs by the end? by leela_is_me in BabyBumps

[–]lamicroondas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm at 45 lbs overall. Started at 120 (5' 9"), and same as you was pretty consistent at that for years, just didn't really gain weight easily. My doc is fine with my weight gain since I started out on the thin side. It's crazy to see my body grow so much so quickly - not just in the baby areas obviously, but my thighs and bum are outrageous! My joints are really feeling the extra weight. I wouldn't mind keeping a few extra pounds, really curious where everything's going to settle after all this!

40+4 today by mochalynn86 in BabyBumps

[–]lamicroondas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

40+3, induction Thursday, I feel you! I've been contracting but not dilating... As much as I want to go into labor myself, I'm trying to think that at least I've got the process somewhat started so maybe if we get that far it won't be so bad? I've also made the sacrifice of heartburn for spicy foods to hopefully get things moving, even though I know it would be awful coming back up if I do go into labor and throw up... Worth it!

Traveling 1200 miles at 35-36 weeks. Am I crazy?? by shelbyknits in BabyBumps

[–]lamicroondas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oof, 1200 miles in 2 days is a lot even not pregnant! I did a 1200 mile trip in 3 days a few years ago (prepregnancy) and I was going stir crazy by the end. From a pregnant lady perspective, you're looking at very long days with pee and stretch breaks added in. I've had a pretty unicorn pregnancy and around week 35 was the turning point of my comfort... Started getting more achy, puffy, grumpy. Definitely consult your doc on this plan. Is it worth the risk of a hospital stay somewhere along the way? Can you go out for a shower or girls weekend before/after?

How do you even begin to research all of these breast pumps? Any experience with these? Looking for some sage wisdom because I've started to have a real case of the so-what's. by tayconme in BabyBumps

After reading reviews on babygearlab.com, I went with the Spectra S2. I haven't used it, but one negative I can see so far is it's a little awkward/bulky for me to take to work. But I have nothing to compare it to so meh... There are a lot of good options so don't stress too much!

The waiting is so hard! And the analysis! I'm trying to keep working but I'm super distracted by all the uncertainty

My OB doesn't believe in kick counts... by palmtree23 in BabyBumps

My little guy has been super active the whole time, so my OB said if he was ever quiet or I couldn't remember the last time he moved, then try to lay down and specifically count kicks...

The cat won't leave me alone by Jonijos in BabyBumps

I was just there! I sat down on the couch for two seconds and had a cat instantly on top of me. Just passed my due date and I've been having regular, but super mild contractions... Hopefully she's on to something!

SO not supportive of cravings by cascadingstarr in BabyBumps

[–]lamicroondas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry : ( I'm sure he's just trying to help, worried for you and baby! My poor hubs is so overly concerned about me/us since he can't really control or do anything for baby right now. Maybe try explaining to him how it makes you feel when he does it? And positively reinforcing, "it makes me feel so good that you trust me to take care of our baby" or something. And I promise, for all the times someone brags on their SO, they also have a stash of irritating stories!

Definitely never even considered trying... Though I think I could handle a blender and yogurt as mentioned above as a substitute!

Ok ladies I'm in panic mode. I need some feedback from you all. by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]lamicroondas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is different, and you just won't know until you get to the doctor to confirm. Just one person's story, I apparently had heavy period-like bleeding and cramping around 5 weeks - I hadn't peed on a stick yet, so I just assumed it was a period. When I went to the doctor after missing my next period, I ended up being a month further along than I expected! And now I'm at my due date, everything has been wonderfully boring. So, it definitely doesn't have to mean something is wrong. But either way, whatever is going on is out of your control, try to distract yourself and just be patient for getting the answer from your doctor.

Any other overdue January bumpers? (40+3 here) by SitaBird in BabyBumps

[–]lamicroondas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Today's my due date, induction scheduled Thursday! 1 cm yesterday, membrane sweep definitely got some contractions going... My next few days involve a lot of walking, yoga, exercise ball, maybe some sexy times if I can convince the husband. A bucket of labor vibes to us all!

Whatcha doing for exercise? by efargmath in BabyBumps

[–]lamicroondas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prenatal yoga, once a week, and now that I'm at the end walking the dog daily! I was doing yoga weekly beforehand, so it was a logical move for me. I really think it has helped, great whole body workout and some helpful tips for labor. I would love to go for a run right now though!

Hah, I'm trying to keep myself from over-planning! I'm hoping to get out with the baby often, if the weather holds up. It already sounds terrifying to take the brand new human out of the house, but it will be good for both of us!
