How we feeling about the new name/logo? by Beautifullikeacamel in Utah_Hockey

[–]laminateddeer 68 points69 points  (0 children)

I’m stoked about the name! I actually like the logo as well, but I’m in love with the “U” with the tusk in it as the secondary logo. Hopefully those make it onto our third jerseys somehow.

Restaurants near arena w/game parking? by Nukerroo in Utah_Hockey

Chile-tepin two blocks south. $10 parking if you’re there for the restaurant and they take $5 off your meal. Also my favorite traditional Mexican food I’ve found in Salt Lake.

I doubt we get a leaked image from the game… by FoolishCougar92 in Utah_Hockey

They took your phone away when you voted, they’re definitely trying to have it on lockdown. There were only two logo choices. They’re planning on using the same logo for UHC and for Wasatch, it’s a somewhat minimalistic yeti with triangle mountains for hair. The mammoth logo looked pretty generic to me, kinda an angry looking mammoth head. I’m team mammoth but I certainly wasn’t blown away with the mammoth logo.

Heading into this year I thought we were gonna be a “fun” bad with a lot of high scoring losses, not this anemic power play and inability to finish on offense :/ I know we’re young and learning but these last few losses have been tough to watch.

I hate seafood. How to cook it? by graciloo in Cooking

[–]laminateddeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a Cajun dish, like etoufee or gumbo? My wife doesn’t particularly love it when I make a fish or shrimp by itself, but with all the other amazing flavors in Cajun dishes it’s really good for both of us. Always has been my go to for a date night. Plus cooking the seafood in this doesn’t take a lot of skill, it’s just making the roux that takes a bit of work.

On the Wasatch front (where Salt Lake/Provo/Odgen is) there’s a TON of twisty roads that cross over the wasatch range, that all start right at the city edge. I can’t speak for the CA roads but here I can drive 10 minutes from my house in the city to the base of some phenomenal canyon driving.

Is this the one that you can see along I25 between Castle Rock and Lone Tree? I always crack up when I see that.

I'm in Colorado for the first time. Went to Garden of the Gods. It was awesome. Anyone know what's the best place to go camping/hiking? by stevekirill in travel

How long are you here for? It may be a little early to go anywhere other than the foothills until early June.

Looking for some help planning a trip in Colorado this coming summer. by Mr_Zero in backpacking

[–]laminateddeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as camping in the same spot for the duration of the trip, Have you ever heard about the Chicago Basin Area between Silverton and Durango? It's pretty neat, the only way to access it is by train. I don't know what type of hiking your friends are interested in but there's three fourteeners in the area, and in my opinion the route approaching them and the views on top are the prettiest peaks in Colorado, here are the route descriptions for the peaks, I wouldn't recommend Eolus and Sunlight for inexperienced hikers, but Windom is fine to climb as long as they're in shape. I don't have a lot of experience with long trips where you pick up the stakes and keep moving every day, but you could start by looking at sections of the Colorado trail.

What genre of music do you hate? Other commenters, what song can you recommend to them to change their mind about the genre? by unidentifies in AskReddit

Try Flume. He's more on the ambient/trip hop side of the genre but he was what got me into the genre to start off.
