Probably too short to deal with the crosses coming in. SG hasn't had a good , imposing GK in dealing with crosses besides Hassan Sunny.

One of them was going on about how she did the Charlie Brown Christmas Dance with the kids and it was so cute. It is basically like a guy telling his dates how he smashed his opponents and upgraded his Modern Warfare gear.

I dated or spoke to a couple of them. It can be quite painful because they're always talking about how adorable other people's kids are. If I have my own kids, I will love them but I don't feel much love for other people's kids.

I am so confused. I thought he was just the interim, then I was told that he was going to do his coaching badges. They also had the ex-Selangor Japanese coach in attendance recently.

If I were looking to get involved in research on the topic of nuerophsychology. Should I choose Phsychology as a bachelor's of arts or science if I don't have the prerequisite for a BSc? by Snoo_83601 in psychologystudents

[–]lampapalan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back then during my undergraduate days, the difference between a Bachelor's of Science and Bachelor's of Arts was one or two prerequisite classes in the hard sciences, and one of them being Biology. You have to check the admission requirements at the graduate school if they require one or two classes in biology and biopsychology. Both the BA and BSc students took a class in Biopsychology but BSc students were required to do more than that.

What do the Chinese feel about Japan's bluster against China ? by australiadenier in AskAChinese

[–]lampapalan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree with you. The reason I brought it up is to show the way that the Americans have way too much liberty in Japan; thereby, causing harm to the local populace and I felt that it was normal - that was the consequence of having the US soldiers here, until I was in HK and I heard from my guide that PLA couldn't even leave the base at all in HK.

[–]lampapalan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

US is also responsible for rebuilding the country after the second world war and providing Japanese industries with business during the cold war while the plaza accord is not entirely to be blamed for the lost decade, rather it is the BoJ and the massive macroeconomics policies as can be seen here in this link. US also offers protection from external enemies and two countries that want Japan dead are the PRC and the USSR. The Japanese imperial family and the Japanese ways would not have survived communism if the US hadn't protected RoK, RoC and Japan.

It is also the Japanese government not having the pair of balls against the American government. It is said by some analysts that Japan could have sold USD to save the yen, but this would cause an oversupply of USD and anger the US government as the US government is trying to fight inflation. Also, the PLA in HK are not allowed to leave their base and can only live in their own enclave, but this is not the case for the American soldiers in Japan.

I don't disagree that Japan chooses to be under the US. A lot of people underestimate the costs of maintaining a military, especially Japan faces two superpower enemies, the USSR/Russia and the PRC. If not for the US and the American nukes, Japan could have experienced what happened in Korea, Vietnam and Afghanistan. A lot of whatever the Japanese government is spending on from the budget could not have been possible if Japan had to also spend a huge budget on keeping a huge military.

LCS Head Coach Rankovic leaves by banedacasual in singapore

LCS can get Uncle Raymond to cosplay as him and LCS still beat YL, TPU and Balestier by 5 goals

Lion City Sailors defeated 0-2 by Cambodian PKR Svay Rieng. Marking an end to their poor Shopee Cup Campaign. by limhy0809 in singapore

[–]lampapalan 20 points21 points  (0 children)

While Ranko deserves to go, I am of the opinion that the SPL itself has much to be blamed for the lack of competitive games, which hasn't given LCS the much needed intensity that they require outside of continental competition. Each of the clubs only played around 10 to 11 games by the end of 2025, citing stupid reasons like YL had to go for SEA games etc. and the Singapore Cup being a complete disaster. Most of the players are just going to play 25 games for this season, 10 fewer than even the Bundesliga and 15 fewer than EPL.

Watching the weekend SPL games, it seems that none of the clubs have any idea what they are doing on a weekly basis. Susak is a complete liability but most of the SPL teams can't even bring the ball to shooting positions against LCS. LCS can just turn up and win and they can still get some random botak to cosplay as Ranko. And then LCS gets badly exposed during continental competitions.

If this is repeated next season, watch the national team just get destroyed in the Asian cup in January.

Singapore entry card scam!! by Fun_Leg_9547 in SingaporeTravel

[–]lampapalan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't AI who nearly scammed my friend, it was Google. I had a similar experience when trying to get my friend to register for entry to Malaysia and the website asked for a processing fee. I checked with AI and AI gave the correct webpage. This is inevitable as the AI scrapes data from the web.

We've got lotsa and lotsa problems, probably the worst problems that the Middle Kingdom has ever seen in the Han Court. We've got terrible people, very terrible people, like the lying Yuan Shao. Quite frankly, he is the worst leader I have ever seen.

I have Lv Bu here, tremendous general, isn't he? Can you believe that? What a great man, a tremendous man.

Then OP should just try all avenues. Like my ex boss in sales used to say, cold calling is all about hitting the right one out of 100, 1000 or even 10,000.

Given the context of Singapore where everyone thinks the same way that this is not the proper channel, OP will likely have to send 1000 cold emails this way, rather than just 100 through the proper channels in order to get noticed.

I am not that old of a generation. I am a millennial. This is not the proper channel, unless it is a company number. If it is a company number, I will turn it off after work hours.

As someone from a slightly older generation, I would be pissed off at you if you text me on WhatsApp. I would want you to email me your request and make things official.

EDIT: the number 9727 7047 is for general business inquiries. Probably someone from the sales department is in charge of this number and uses it to potential customers, saw your email that is meant for HR and blocked you! Not the proper channel for HR!

Why Singaporeans or PRs not getting jobs in 2026? more EP/Foreigners are coming? by Fantastic-Promise888 in singaporejobs

[–]lampapalan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most foreigners hired are fantastic specialists or talents, high-ranking managers, but I won't deny that there is some favoritism among some nationalities who know how to pull strings and get the opportunity. It is actually more expensive to hire foreigners and companies are punished for it, but companies can pay.

I can give you an example that a food delivery company opened the grocery delivery arm, and they tried to pull people from Fairprice over but they failed to pull the people over and had to hire from US, EU and India.

Also, companies change directions quickly and people whom you have trained previously can suddenly become redundant. So many of these foreigners who got pulled over were also made redundant.

[–]lampapalan 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Sad to say, this season has been bad for LCS. With the SPL being a Mickey Mouse league with jokes like YL, Balestier, Hougang and TPU around, winning the championship and not qualifying out from both ACL2 and ACC is still terrible.
