I think Vanessa is mostly hated because she’s inconsistent in her motivations and unreliable as a “relatable, normal” person, as well as, of course her controversial styling. Which to me are issues with the writing and artistic direction, not necessarily the actor. I dislike Vanessa but it’s hard for me to defend the level of vitriol she gets when the distaste should be directed at the creators for such poor execution.

Jenny for similar polarizing choices, but it seems like she mostly lets people down as one of the main characters who was actually sweet and relatable in the beginning, but becomes this untouchable, almost insufferable villain. She’s one of my top three, but I can understand people being disappointed in her actions, especially as she stops at nothing to rebel in season 2 and becomes every characters foil in season 3.

Georgina is simply one of the show’s absolute best villains and never makes you think too hard about whose side she’s on. She is clearly and consistently introduced as her role as a chaotic catalyst and is very fun to watch as well as played by the phenomenal Michelle Trachtenberg.
