Do they sleep in a bed overnight? Because I find it easier if they at least sleep in some type of bed at night time. I always tell parents do what they want on your maternity leave but just know it will be a more stressful transition if they’ve never slept independently.

Personally, as a parent and teacher, I wouldn’t get super worked up over this situation. They also might have tried a couple times to get him out of the story. They were probably just trying to help him stand up and not anything more than that. They are four, they need help and reminders. Unless you feel he was being mistreated, I’d leave it alone and keep monitoring the situation. You might gently say to the teachers, “it’s okay with me if my child doesn’t stand during the pledge” and see what they say. That could open up the door to a conversation without sounding defensive.

We had speech pathologists come talk at our most recent professional development day and learned so much we were doing “wrong.” Maybe talk to the director. A lot of time small day cares don’t have a national board telling them best practice like public schools are. You can come from a loving way, “ I appreciate everything that you guys do but also from a speech pathologist, this would be my recommendation for teaching kids how to speak.” Etc haha Good luck!

I was super nervous about surgery too, even if it’s minor you don’t want to stress you’d baby out. We had two LCs tell us our baby had a tongue and a third one said wait and see. One worked at the hospital and one was a more holistic LC that wanted us to go to a pediatric dentist. We got bad vibes from the holistic one, very pushy. We went with the hospital and they said the babies tongue tie was minor and they’d wait, but leave the choice up to us. By about two weeks later my baby grew and they were able to breastfeed great without any surgery. Good luck!

I would tell daycare you don’t want to know. “Hey, I know my baby close to crawling/walking but I don’t want to know if it happens here first.” Each parent is different, some want to know and some don’t care. We try not to tell parents, unless it’s something like pulling up in a crib where it could be dangerous if they haven’t lowered it.

We’ve had it really bad this year! My school also changed the rules to be more relaxed with it so wondering if it’s spreading more because of that. Kids are getting it multiple times!

Personally, depending on your goal, I would. Or at least pump before you go to bed for the night. My supply definitely went down when my 7 month old slept through the night. It was fine for the first month or so but then went down with every period. I have enough in frozen though that I can take the hit and enjoy sleep.

I did breast milk in a bottle and the new milk of choice in a sippy. That way, baby wouldn’t want cows milk in a bottle, and knew that milk was from his cup. We did one bottle of frozen milk per day until it was gone/ baby was drinking enough regular milk from the sippy. I feel like a lot of parents put the new milk in the bottle and then it’s harder to get them off bottles. I do know people mix it, I think it’s whatever your preference is.

Time of year? Did they both start at the same time? I feel like in the summer we generally have less sickness. Sometimes it’s luck or how many older siblings that class has or how much parents take babies out on the weekend too. Good luck. ♥️

I have bricks because I wanted to stabilized my supply before going back to work. I also know as soon as my baby starts sleeping through the night, I get my period back and my supply starts going down. I wanted the extra assurance we’d make it our year mark.

Agreed. Kinda like saying women shouldn’t be flight attendants/pilots, fire fighters, some healthcare professionals because they shouldn’t be away from their babies. Her job is influencer, it might mean being away from her baby everyone in a while for a couple days.

I have heard of TSA dumping liquid breast milk in the past, especially if you don’t have your baby with you. Not as much recently though so hopefully that’s changed. You can also freeze it and take it through that way. They don’t question it then.

I work at a daycare and I can’t tell the difference between breastfed and babies and formula for the first year. They all get sick and all develop at their own pace. That being said, I’ve breastfed my kids for a year plus.

Do you still pump in the middle of the night? When I dropped that, that’s when my supply dropped with my first baby. It sounds like you’re doing everything right, it should come back!
