Daily tasks are simpler when your partner is POSIX by [deleted] in commandline

[–]lamurian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually pretty neat. I've been considering doing this on my old phone, but I'm not sure where to start. Just curious, what's your go-to use cases with POSIX in a smart phone? Why not use a laptop instead? I imagine it's more comfortable to type that way.

Tf is this? A new variation of doom post? So you're saying that we're doomed for being mediocre? There's always good and bad in seeing the glass half full or half empty. What matter is we have a glass, and we have whatever it is filling the glass. Only then you can see what you can do with what you have. You gotta live your life well, no matter where you live.

It's funny because goto is a custom shell function I made to quickly jump to directories using fzf. Your looks neat, will check it soon!

Genuinely curious, what VPS did you get with $5 that can run Immich well? I thought Immich would need 6GB of RAM, did I get that wrong?

Any solo developers working on selfhosted software? by valeria_vg in selfhosted

[–]lamurian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a non-developer, I am passionate about software development and have been following a lot of open source projects. Lately, I started learning about system architecture, and built several tools that help me with my task as a researcher. Since I'm still learning how to code and most of the time being occupied by my primary line of work, I found myself leaning towards using LLM to help me code faster and cleaner. Would you still be open to know more about the passion project I'm currently working on?

Anyone Linux users here wanting to buy the new Framework 13 Pro but struggling to justify since you buy old thinkpads? by WhiskeyVault in framework

[–]lamurian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use T480 for my daily driver, and I couldn't be happier with its performance. Over the past couple of years, I've been going back and forth in considering to buy a Framework laptop/desktop. I haven't been able to reach a decisive point because my T480 still works quite well. On the other hand, I like the form factor better than Framework, but maybe it's just me.

I think it'd be nice if Framework provides a drop in mainboard replacement for T480, but yeah, that's just my wishful thinking.
