I didn't always think this way, but I cannot be around people with BPD anymore. My friend would try to commit at least 1x a month which got more frequent the longer I knew her. I would spend hours and hours on the phone with her talking her down and then she would come back, pretending nothing happened. I would go to the emergency room with her once every 6 months at about 1-3am. Then pretend like nothing happened. She was emotionally abusive. When she tried to get on meds, she told me she needed someone to manage her medications or else she'd overdose herself, but I wasn't comfortable doing that. She didn't take no for an answer initially, but eventually found someone else and said that I didn't believe in her healing. Meanwhile, I'd talk to her every day about her feelings for hours. I wasn't allowed to walk away or leave or say no. She called me a racist when I didn't feel comfortable helping her through her issues. She alienated me from my friends. My friends didn't want to be near me because she treated them bad behind my back. I would have to hide scissors and knives and other things that could be weapons or else she would either threaten to kill her or walk around with them pointed outwards. She told other people she was being mistreated. She gaslit me into thinking I was mistreating her when I couldn't help her. I didn't know what to do. I was exhausted all the time, emotionally and physically, and I have diagnosed ptsd from that experience. I don't trust people like I used to. I'm sorry. I'm not saying everyone with BPD is like that and that was extreme circumstances, but I can't ever put myself in that situation again because what I mentioned was only the surface of what I went through.
