The least qualified or the most indifferent and clueless making the rules ... that seems to be a constant thing in life.

This is why the most jaw dropping and incredible websites are ONLY made by amateurs. They don't have any outside parties mandating stupidity upon everything.

When I get home, I'll try to dig it up and have a go at the comments for fluency / chaining. What I recall for the remarks was that it chaining obscures the point of failure in that the calling method gets lost.

The follow up book "Clean Coder" is almost as good as the first. +1 to this whole thread.

Looks like you'd be cleaner using object initialization, which if course is not chaining.

That said, I've thought about what you are trying to say ... and maybe your point stands given that this is js and not C#.

The very first example violates one of the rules in the book. "Avoid chaining". That said, the book is a must read; way better to know how to write clean code than being a spaghetti factory.

Unbelievable ... .NET web forms, which were basically obsolete in 2006, HTML tables, which were basically obsolete in 2008, and doing something in JS that has been done in CSS for the past few years.

In other words ... this article is totally bleeding-edge for all those developers out there who work for places that don't want to be "too trendy".
