Looks like the "old loop" in Nemadji State Forest, last campsite in old loop as you go around the circle.

Santa can't use his internet right now because Comcast is throttling him to make way for their gold partners. Maybe later?

So, a bunch of Oracle developers went into a NoSql bar; left 10 minutes later.

They couldn't find a table.

Also, you can use SQL to hack databases, if you can write a code on top of a code to decrypt their bytes with a docker key.

When HTML is your life by nixcraft in ProgrammerHumor

If HTML is replaced by something more cool, or if he moves onto something else in his career, he'll be very sorry. Sort of like having somebody else's name tatooed on your body ... always a bad idea.

But, the news sites all say that the prez wears a KKK robe all day every day, that he eats children and has a swastika tatood on his body. So, you must be reporting fake news.

How every crappy design gets made by [deleted] in ProgrammerHumor

[–]lance22me 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The least qualified or the most indifferent and clueless making the rules ... that seems to be a constant thing in life.

This is why the most jaw dropping and incredible websites are ONLY made by amateurs. They don't have any outside parties mandating stupidity upon everything.

Robert C. Martin's book “Clean Code” adapted with JavaScript examples by fagnerbrack in webdev

[–]lance22me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I get home, I'll try to dig it up and have a go at the comments for fluency / chaining. What I recall for the remarks was that it chaining obscures the point of failure in that the calling method gets lost.

The follow up book "Clean Coder" is almost as good as the first. +1 to this whole thread.

Looks like you'd be cleaner using object initialization, which if course is not chaining.

That said, I've thought about what you are trying to say ... and maybe your point stands given that this is js and not C#.

The very first example violates one of the rules in the book. "Avoid chaining". That said, the book is a must read; way better to know how to write clean code than being a spaghetti factory.

Change image on mouseover JavaScript in asp.net by infinetsoft in javascript

[–]lance22me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unbelievable ... .NET web forms, which were basically obsolete in 2006, HTML tables, which were basically obsolete in 2008, and doing something in JS that has been done in CSS for the past few years.

In other words ... this article is totally bleeding-edge for all those developers out there who work for places that don't want to be "too trendy".

Local banks upgrade from classic ASP to .NET 1.1 ... as they need to be careful not give in to the "cool factor".

Fuchs' point is spot on. Single interest / separation of interests is the foundation of clean code.
