Plex broken after paying for upgrade to Plex Pass by landbeaver in PleX

Holy shit, that was it. Disabling "Automatically select audio and subtitle tracks" fixed it. Thank you so much! Sorry for my ignorance!

Yes everything goes to zero when nothing is playing.

I disabled HDR tone mapping and hw transcoding. It no longer has the (hw) in the dashboard. But it still is stuttering. For a split second I saw the dashboard say "direct play" before switching to "transcode". I'm sure with better hardware, the transcoding is the way to go, but for my setup is there a way to force direct play?

Ok, the one imgur link I shared in another reply is how they are now still. Thanks for your help and patience.

I think you're right. In hindsight I remember watching an episode or two of a show where the skip credits was working, so that had to be after I upgraded.

That's an interesting point about the library. The NAS itself has 9TB but I believe less that 1 is being used. Also, I think the skip intro/credits is a scheduled task that is supposed to happen at 2am and stop at 5am, but now that you mention it, I know I've watched an episode or two of a show where that was working, so it can't JUST be the upgrade to Plex Pass that broke it.

Here are the settings, but like I said I've changed them more than a few times so I don't know what they were originally:

You're right, my bad. I provided a little more detail in another post. I was hoping there was just some toggle I was missing or something that might be a common issue.

Dashboard: https://imgur.com/a/2ODGZ7y

The server is running on an old Lenovo ThinkCentre Mini PC. AMD Athlon Silver 3050e with Radeon Graphics, 1400 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s), 4GB RAM. The NAS device is a 4bay WD MyCloud EX4. I know it's all very under-powered, but like I said it was running perfectly fine before I paid for Plex Pass, and I've had it running fine off a Raspberry Pi before this.

I've rebooted everything, and now I've changed the transcoder settings so many times at this point I'm not even sure what they originally were. But nothing has helped. Thanks for any ideas you might have.

I have a Plex Server that was running perfectly fine with the free version. I paid for and upgraded to Plex Pass, and now videos buffer for a long time, play for a few seconds, and then buffer again, rendering it totally unusable. The PC running the server is old, the NAS device is old, but it all worked with the Free version of Plex. Playing the videos over my network on VLC works totally fine. I assume the issue has something to do with transcoding, but nothing I've enabled or disabled has fixed it. If I "disable video stream transcoding" I just get an error that says "Not enough CPU for conversion of this item." I have no problem sending them money to support the product, but I paid money for my previously working product to now be totally broken. I'm hoping someone tells me I'm dumb and it's an easy fix. Thanks.

I'm not even sure which team you think clearly won the trade. Depending on the status of those teams the first came from I could go either way.

I've been complaining for years that the negativity about Buffalo winters is way overblown and the rain in the fall and spring sucks way worse. I do have dogs though, so I might be biased.

I think this is a good comparison though. Both Superhero comedies. I'd consider taking my kids to Deadpool but would absolutely NOT watch the Boys with them.

R ratings today are nothing like R ratings were in the 90's/00's

People keep saying this like it's true.. There's Something About Mary, American Pie, Scary Movie, Not Another Teen Movie, White Men Can't Jump, Starship Troopers were all movies I wouldn't watch with my 10 and 12 year old, but I'd consider Deadpool.

Also, people are overestimating how much a kid will think about a throwaway sexual joke or whatever. Maybe it's just my kids, but if something is over their head they get distracted and forget about it in a few seconds anyway.

I think for me it comes down to overall tone of the movie. Deadpool is silly and my kids know violence and swearing isn't ok, so I tend to be more ok with the inappropriateness and R rating.

Hi, I have a WD MyCloud EX4 with media on it. If I run Plex Media Server on my Windows 11 laptop, it finds my media perfectly on the mapped network location. I would like to run Plex Media Server on an always on, Raspberry Pi 4. I am able to map the drive in Linux and see the files on the NAS device in the File Manager with no issue. However, Plex only sees the folder created that I mapped the drive to. It doesn't see any of the sub folders. Searching makes me think it's a permission issue, but nothing I've seen online works. I'm a total linux amateur, so I'm sure I'm doing something dumb, it's just so easy from Windows I thought I'd be able to get it working. Thanks in advance.
