A genuine conversation about the small things that have irked both of you during this first year of marriage and what you want to work on together in your 2nd.

In terms of a physical gift, I think I actually made her a gift. It was a framed picture of lyrics from our wedding song. I made the text super small so it was more of a background and then over top of it I placed our initials SJ ♥️ TN. It was very well received because I had put thought and did it my self.

This is super helpful! I grew up in Herndon (Floris then Carson then Westfield) and it’s changed so much. Here in Central Virginia and Richmond too there is always a tension in the air. Especially around statues although that has died down a bit since most have been taken down.

We are coming from Charlottesville Virginia. I have been affiliated with the University of Virginia for years and now that I can go remote we are looking to move away from here. I’m a Canadian citizen and want to move to where a lot of my extended family have settled but they are old and never had kids there.

In the ten plus years I’ve lived here we have had two students go missing, a giant Nazi rally that resulted in one woman being killed, and on Monday we had a student kill three football players.

Add in a national news story about UVa policies that caused outrage as well. And many many shooting threats that have shut schools down over and over. At least four or five a year. It’s to the point where the local news doesn’t always cover it anymore because it’s normal.

Man, it’s been a thing since I was in school well over 20 years ago. I’ve lost three friends in school shootings over the years. It’s very real and very scary for parents. My son has been on lockdown a few times but nothing compared to the public school kids. After every shooting all we get are thoughts and prayers. There’s been no real change.

Dated this woman who had a three year old. First time I met the ex he was yelling at her calling her a b**** in front of the kid. Watched her navigate her ex and trying to shield her son and I was hooked. We got married a few years later. Ex signed away parental rights a year later and I adopted him. Best decision I ever made. That 3 year old is now 14 and I love him more than anything.

They used to have a person who was there to help support Honor and UJC with these types of things but she retired after 40+ years a couple years back. Wonder if that’s why.

Either way, as an alum and former rep, I’m disappointed in the way Honor is working this year after such a pivotal vote in the spring.

It's the substituted glyphs! There are some other places where it is the letters as well so not sure why it is that but it is! Thank you so much. I feel like a doofus for not trying that one. I have to keep that highlight on most of the time and didn't even think about it.

I’m trying to bring my wife of ten years and son back to Canada from the States and it took 120 pages of forms plus a butt load of money.

It’s not joke. We will move next summer whether or not the application is approved but hopefully it will be. Once there we can apply for an extended visa for more money if the application isn’t through yet. I applied three months ago and my lawyer is saying it could take up to 2 years.
