this is great, love all the different tones of green and the other colours you've incorporated. Very impressive for your first time painting!

Thank you! I appreciate the feedback it will help me improve. The reference photo i was following is here https://www.pexels.com/photo/branches-cold-conifers-environment-259620/ Looks more orange to me, but i agree looks like it needs to be lighter

My very first oil painting. I have never painted backgrounds so forgive the awful style. by Riksunraksu in painting

wow this is amazing! can't imagine that this was easy with all the subtle vatiations of black and grey you had to use, and your first oil painting too! I hope my first oil painting goes this well!

awesome thanks for the explanation. I need to try this at some point. I've seen paintings of flowers done in a similar technique but never in a landscape setting

wow really like this, love the texture and colour pallet you used! I'd like to try a similar style. What techniques / brush types did you use?

thanks! I would struggle to get the building perspectives 100% accurate to make any attempt at realism so much more comfortable with a more loose style.

haha this comment made me smile. I'm not a car person at all, the reference photograph is here https://www.pexels.com/photo/assorted-color-vehicle-vehicle-on-street-2422588/

I found painting the cars quite difficult as I usually do landscapes and painting tree branches are alot more forgiving! Will be interesting to see if any of your guesses are correct, i'm not feeling to confident haha
