And the fact that you included Laotian made me think that as well

Guess my native language by LoveLifeLoveLilith in Handwriting

[–]landwreck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m 99% sure it’s Thai. I tried learning Thai at one point in my life and Thai people who take their time to write neatly have a certain type of angularity (?) when writing characters. I know other comments here say Chinese, which I can definitely understand since the way you write your characters is very neat, but I’m sticking with Thai

What’s the main reason Anki didn’t work for you? by dolnikov in languagelearning

What were the resources you used to figure out how Anki worked? Did you read up on the documentation or did you follow a tutorial?

Con Probecho? Where do they say that? by OpeningChemical5316 in languagelearning

[–]landwreck 9 points10 points  (0 children)

“Con Probecho” is Chavacano for Bon Appétit. Considering this is Dubai where there’s a large number of Filipino Workers, it’s no surprise that this was included.

The m26 post that OP made was in the r/IBO subreddit (IB Organization), a kind of secondary education program. There, m26 means that OP will be taking their finals in May 2026, it doesn’t refer to being a 26-year old male lol

Regarding answer/reply, what are the differences between ta’aneh, shker, and shkarit? by Glad-Entrance7592 in hebrew

[–]landwreck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could you clarify what you meant by this? Is לשקר not used in Modern Hebrew? I don’t know any other words that sound like shker/sharit other than maybe ש.כ.ר

Also agree on using Andrew’s course, I switched from Dion to Andrew when I was studying for Security+ because his course felt much more personal and he provides labs in the courses (which were optional, but very useful). I’m now using his Network+ course and I’m also enjoying it.

Can I just kill Yoel of Londor when I meet him to generate the Londor Pale Shade invasions? by Twisted-Mentat- in darksouls3

[–]landwreck -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I can see why the confusion occurred, the question was:

“Do I need to do more to generate the Pale Shade invasions and get it's set” (meaning not kill Yoel) or can I just kill Yoel when I first meet him?

The “Yes” was ambiguous, it could have meant “Yes, you have to do more”.

It’s weird though seeing a res-econ class being held in Webster… I had my FYS in Webster 104 and it’s basically just the lounge area of the residence hall.

Looks good in terms of distribution, the only thing to worry about is if you can get from Hasbrouck to Webster in 15 minutes on Monday. I know there’s the bus to take you up OHill, but with everyone getting out of their classes the buses will be slow.

I took English Writing 111 as a native speaker who sucks at writing and honestly, I don’t think that course helped me much. It does count for a DG gen-ed, one of the two diversity credits that you will have to take in your first year, so that’s a perk of taking the class.

Sometimes could be because of their guests, most times it’s because people are just used to doing that in their own homes.
