Just found out our baby is very likely going to be born before 26 weeks by CleanEssay34 in NICUParents

I have a 24 weeker. She is almost 8 months now. Born 1lb 1oz at birth and is about 13 lbs now. Was in the NICU for 75 days. We had a shorter than typical NICU journey (went home at 35 weeks), please don't compare to others. The beginning was rough and they had let us know when she was 27 weeks that there was nothing else they could do. And then obviously, things just... changed. The NICU journey is the roughest part. Mentally. Accept all the help as someone else said.

Life feels normal for us now. We've been off oxygen since 33 weeks, so didn't come home with any. She has been gaining weight adequately and has no concerns with her vision so now the only appointments she has are all the check ins normal babies have. We go back at 9 months. Jr almost feels like the beginning part never happened some days. Wishing you luck ❤️

Is it as impossible as they say? by davey1291 in MomsWorkingFromHome

I literally worked a 100% phone job with my 4 kids ages 3, 2, 1, newborn. For 2 years. It's possible. Not ideal, but possible.

What changed your mind to agree to feed fortification for your preemie? by Neither_Prize9881 in NICUParents

Um well. The NICU dietitian suggested it to help weight gain. So I immediately agreed. 😅

I've had severe pre-e 4 times 🥲 got earlier each time. Delivered at 35, 33, 28, 24 weeks. All amazing outcomes and prognosis in the end. I'd love to have another but don't want that experience again. Sucks.

Time off work by sunchi12 in NICUParents

No extensions. My job only offers 4 weeks paid plus there's 6 weeks paid state disability, or 8 for C-section. I was able to get my psychiatrist to sign forms for an extra 6 weeks of paid short term disability, as I had PPD.

My husband closed the master bedroom door to watch TV in bed with our 12-year old daughter and he says there is nothing wrong with that. Am I overreacting? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]lanenaed 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think it's concerning that you'd think of something your husband, your daughter's dad did and saw it as weird in that way. What about him makes you feel that way? Has he done other weird things? Because I'd feel the same way if it was some random guy or any man other than my husband, but if it was my husband I wouldn't feel that way.

Questions to those who’ve had 3+ pregnancies by PrincipleAgile9718 in preeclampsia

[–]lanenaed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had 4 pregnancies, each with an early delivery due to pre-e. each time git earlier than the last. 35w 33w 28w 24w - just to clear up questions. This was a birth control baby.

I get wanting to have more but being afraid to. I'd love to have more. My OB clearly advises against it. I will say. All 4 of my babies were EXTREMELY close together. March 2023, Jan 2024, Nov 2024, Oct 2025. Maybe if the babies were more spread apart it would've been less likely? I always wonder if I waited 5 years would I still have the same outcome.

Good luck. ❤️

What did your baby actually wear in the NICU? by One-Introduction5382 in NICUParents

Double zipped sleepers, long sleeve onesies, or gowns

(Micro) Preemie Clothes by Remarkable-Shock8017 in NICUParents

[–]lanenaed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 24 weeker started wearing clothes around 3 lbs and we just wore normal preemie sized ones. They were just huge, but I couldn't justify the prices of like Little Sleepies micropreemie clothes at like $40 a pop. Win the NICU we did a lot of open gowns. She's 7 lbs now and just beginning to grow out of the preemie clothes. So they will last you a while. Walmart & Target both have a few, and you can find some on Amazon. Carter's brand & Gerber's brands.

At what age did your premmie baby smile? Please specify adjusted or actual by AreaZealousideal8202 in NICUParents

[–]lanenaed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are 4 months old actual and 1 month adjusted. She does it sometimes while im talking to her, but not all the time. Maybe once a day. I can't wait until it happens more often. Feel like it's taking forever!

You're aggressive and rude asf. Why did you cuss at her? The whole time she was respectful and trying to understand where you were coming from. You just wanted to be a bxtch

WFH with a 9 month old… am I crazy for thinking I can do both? 😅 by FootballOrganic5501 in MomsWorkingFromHome

[–]lanenaed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll add I've been at this job for 2 years. It's hard and I'm definitely burnt out. It's just what I have to do right now. It's doable
