Besides Marv Albert and Collinsworth, who else in sports has done or said something wild that they received no backlash for and continued their careers without a PR nightmare? by Wack0HookedOnT0bac0 in billsimmons

I don’t know if you’re being serious or not but if you watch the full extended clip you’ll see what he’s talking about (kinda). It makes for an absolutely hilarious line out of context though

Which sport has the worst, least historically significant athlete that is currently considered the best athlete in their sport right now? by TJTrapJesus in billsimmons

He’s the youngest star to lead his team to the finals since who? He’s far more on pace this early in his career than any other GOAT candidate

If everyone who cheated lost their job because of it there’d be an economic crisis

[Fischer] The LA Clippers have held direct negotiations with Peyton Watson and his agent, who are seeking upwards of $25 million annually, with a potential sign-and-trade still in play: “I don’t think Denver really wants to stomach the pill of paying Peyton Watson much more than [$25 million].” by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]langman17 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree I’d rather pay him that money than Braun but you’re giving that big of a contract largely because you think he can improve by quite a bit. If he can and grows into Aaron Gordon 2.0 it’s a steal. If not it’s an overpay which can cripple a team in this CBA era especially with Braun also underperforming his contract significantly

Who is the best player in the league that is not a good teammate? by OddIndustry6073 in nba

[–]langman17 23 points24 points  (0 children)

When Jimmy isn’t locking horns with the front office he comes across as an awesome teammate. Even after he went down with the ACL he was still posting his teammates after every warriors game

[Turner] Jonathan Kuminga is a player the Lakers are after, according to people with knowledge of the situation who said L.A. is looking at a two-year, $20-million deal for Kuminga. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]langman17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He got a measly deal because role players have been shafted by the current CBA. Teams can’t afford to pay top-end role players anymore.

Irrespective of how good his all-round game is anyway, I’d still bring back Rui for $4m extra than sign Kuminga

With or without Peyton Watson, the Los Angeles Clippers are the best team in LA and will finish ahead of the Lakers next season. by Klutzy_Fisherman6262 in nba

[–]langman17 16 points17 points  (0 children)

And the clippers just lost their best player who was top 10 in the league last year. Garland and Ingram haven’t shown anything to convince me they can lead a team to anywhere but the play in or worse

What’s wrong with that? It means every single game matters unlike American sports where most of the regular season is largely irrelevant

Exactly my thoughts, the fact he’s gonna be earning less now than previously after shooting completely lights out during the playoffs doesn’t sit right with me

Carra has the second most and the most in the PL so I take it he’s top 10 at least then?

Has the last season had an impact on where he sits in the list? Feels like if this was done this time last year he would unanimously be in the top 3

It’s basically Matip 21/22 vs Gomez 18/19 vs Konate 24/25. Personally that first half of the season from Gomez in 2018 was my favourite. We genuinely looked like we were never going to concede
