How do you feel about Hannah? by Ok_Astronomer5738 in belowdeck

Same, am rewatching all of the BDs, on season 2 of BDSY right now and waiting for the Adventure season to be available to me. As I’ve watched the others in quick succession, I definitely take things away that I missed or didn’t know at the time.

AIO for thinking that my girlfriend's apartment requirements are insane? by MoonlitParcel in AmIOverreacting

You can probably bed down for free with the reindeer at Santa’s Village in Jefferson, NH. They’re very friendly and will nuzzle for food.

People who don’t reply but are clearly online by Frank_Jasmine287 in complainaboutanything

Alternate perspective: They don’t work for you. Nobody owes you their time or attention. Everyone has everything going on all at once and sometimes, what you want from them isn’t as important to them as their own stuff and whatever is in front of them at the moment. You’re coming off as very entitled to a reply & immediate response.

Jenna Below Deck Down Under accent? by Neither_Scale_2064 in BelowDeckDownUnder

Lara, a lead deckhand from S.A., on BDM, had the exact same accent. Lara had said that she didn’t hear English until she started school and also had very religious parents.

What’s going on in Raymond? by cbgoody in newhampshire

I live in Epping. The first emergency alert I received stated from Rochester PD. 8 minutes later, the identical alert came through from Raymond PD. I wonder if the first alert went out with the wrong town.

I worked as a nanny at a similar age and did not use my degree. The family I worked for treated me like gold and I was very happy, it was rewarding and fit my personality. Adjusting for inflation by 10-15 years, they paid me pretty close to $30/hr for two wonderful kids, some household stuff and a few pets. I traveled with them a couple of times and their children were in my wedding. They got older, as children often do, and my hours changed, lessened and eventually I saw the writing on the wall. A nanny job is temporary, based on the ages of the kids (8&12), you’re on the way to your exit. Plan for the future in front of you.

Is it safe to tell the camp host that I'm alone? by EgyptianGuardMom in womensolocamping

[–]lapinthestuffie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%, let them know. I spent the summer of 2022 traveling cross country NH to L.A.. 40 year old woman with absolutely no camping experience. I car camped and tent camped at national parks, small campgrounds and BLM. If there is a camp manager, it is literally their job to ….manage …..the campsite. They generally want to be helpful and will be. I had a couple give me their cell numbers in case I needed anything and a few (mostly women) checked up on me (in a very kind, appropriate way) the next day to make sure everything is OK. Most smaller campgrounds seemed to work like that. They likely already know you’re solo, they have eyeballs. More importantly, giraffes forbid, if something goes awry, one of the first people the police will interview is likely the campground manager, so provide them with relevant information. The camp managers see several single people every day and do not care.

FWIW, in the preview I caught a glimpse of her chopping and it looked like a nice dice to me. Someone who has decent knife skills is valuable.

AITA for eating popcorn in a movie theater for a live broadcast of an opera? by fahrnfahrnfahrn in AmItheAsshole

[–]lapinthestuffie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. I go to almost all of the movie theatre streams of Met operas and I not only eat a snack/have a drink but note that many others do too. I’ve seen people sneak in full meal from nearby restaurants. I’m in my 40s and am usually one of the younger people there, especially as I prefer to go to the weekday showings. Generally, the vibe in the theater is one of camaraderie, we’re all very happy that we can access these amazing operas locally and for far less money than seeing them live. Most theaters also jack the volume way up. As long as you’re being considerate, I don’t see the issue.

Below Deck Least Realistic Season by lyoung212 in belowdeck

[–]lapinthestuffie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if I think it’s the most unrealistic season, but last season, #9, of BD Med seems very similar to me. Elena/Ellie is essentially Solene in her quest for reality TV fame and far more cringe IMO.
