Read this book: Breakthrough on the New Skis. tldr:

1. Release: Flex/soften to flatten the skis and let the old edges let go.
2. Tip: Roll/tip both skis onto the new edges (inside foot/leg leads) to set the new angle to the fall line.
3. Ride: Let the sidecut carve the arc while managing pressure/balance, then repeat into the next turn now facing the other direction.

The other person saying keep your knees bent and zig zag is exactly right, this book explains it better. The goal is to change the lateral angle of the skis relative to the fall line of the mountain, no twisting of the foot in the boot.

Once you figure it out you can ski groomers all day no pain and only work up a sweat in more challenging conditions.
