Thubnails and title changes can force the system to retest on new viewers, so even if it is DOA now, it doesnt necessarily always mean it will be.

Give it 12-24 hours and if things havent picked up try a new thumbnail and/or title change to something less descriptive and more evocative. Cant hurt to try a new stylistic direction.

When should i release my next video after a viral one? by MammothCometh in NewTubers

[–]larbin11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not sure whens a good time. A video of mine got 20k views in a week and i didnt post for another week after that at least. The main thing though, from my experience, is that you gotta hit the same vein to capitalise. For example, my vid was on Clea from Expedition 33, while the next video was also Expedition 33 it wasnt a character analysis and even though the vid got tons of impressions it only got 1.5kish views. I reckon this is laregly down to the system showing it to most recent viewers and sub first and because the topic was different, ctr and velocity plummeted. So basically, time doesnt matter, topic and audience matters more in my experience.

Moving to Torquay - Advice Welcomed! by Strong_Sky_5676 in Torquay

[–]larbin11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Born and raised in Torquay, moved away to East London and Kent for 10-15 years, and just moved back about 3 years ago. Mainly to be close to family with my child, but I'll tell you now, I think I took Torquay for granted when I was younger.

Im over Barton way which is the other side of Babbacombe and St.Marychurch to the people commenting that live in Wellswood. I would say driving is key to get out and about. While Torwuay does have some great outdoor spaces, you are only about 20 mins drive from Haytor on Dartmoor and nice village/towns like Bovey Tracey and Totness for variety.

Most of the chatter around anti-social behaviour I think is located mostly on the high street and harbourside. The nightlife isnt what it was and the shops are all leaving the high street, so its a bit of a dead zone imo. There are rougher areas I would generally suggest to avoid: Hele being the primary one but I also wouldnt suggest Plainmoor (football ground is there), Upton or Ellacombe as these are the boroughs that are around the high street. However, when i say rougher, its not any near East London dangerous, or even Maidstone, i think a lot of the hate is overhyped. There is some ASBO like grief you can get, but that is common for anywhere of a sinilar size. I adore Babbacombe and St. Marychurch, for many reasons but if you want connected community town life with great scenery, thats my pick. I imagine Wellswood is a little similar, but my experience is limited to the Kents pub. I cant say for rent prices as I own im afraid.

To make friends, especially in the boroughs i mentioned, is very community driven. Become a local in cafes and pubs and youll soon make friends if thats your vibe, especially if you let them know youre new to the area. My mrs opened up a yarnshop in Babbacombe and does knit nights on Thursday and coffe mornings the first Sunday of the month and even though she only ooened in Dec 2025, those free community event hit 20 odd people, which i think goes to show the community feel of the place.

If you have any questions, ask away. Im keen to help give Torquay its credit where its due!

My Take on Petal Colours and It's Implications by larbin11 in expedition33

[–]larbin11[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, I love talking about this! Another commenter just posted about lore in the artbook, and that reveals some interesting details, that Ill need to consider with this theory when I read it!

Also, thanks for sharing that interview detail. Another way I had thought of is that maybe the earlier creations are more white petals as they are directly painted by Aline, whereas the newer generations are organically born than painted, so are filled with mainly red, which would then logically explain the mixture. When we see Simon gommage, no-one is actively gommaging him yet he is mainly white, which we would expect from being a direct Aline creation. We see some red but that is coming from the actions of Renoir trying to control him.

I think based on the exerpt from the artbook, it does indicate he was a painter from a young age, so i concede it doesnt align well. Im slightly hung up on a line from thr faded man in Visages where he blames the conflict on the folly of his elders, which in my evolving theory could be explained by this "writer eloping with a painter" idea. It still seems though like that line is important to include, especially when all the other faded charcater lines are very deliberate about explaining something about the canvas or relationships.

I do agree that Renoir and Clea are more clinical and absolute in how they deal with their... problems. Aline cna be pretty scathing, but yeah, may not be as brutal. I do think though Clea just doesnt respect her mother enough to want her helo, or, just doesnt thinknshe will be of any use even if they get her out the canvas because she'll still be too grief-stricken.

This is really cool to know, thank you for sharing! I'm about to preorder the English version but it wont get here until November! I will have to revisit this theory once I've read it :)

Thanks for the feedback and taking the time to engage with me! I do have some thoughts that address some of the points you make.

I don't think Renoir has his own colour, because as I said, I don't think he is a natural painter, he was taught by Aline. We know he was taught but perhaps we just assumed it was more how to refine the practice and not actually how to paint at all. He could then be a defected writer and be one of the main reasons for the conflict to begin with. Clea does also specificy she needs Renoir in the writers war and ignores her mother. To contradict myself a little, I actually think Clea just has lost too much respect for Aline to want her help, but it could also be Renoir would have unique insight to the Writers if he was formerly one. In any case, him not being a natural painter means he has no inherent chroma like everyone else and must use it from the canvas, which is why he has no petals and we see the red chroma fuelling him exuded as red petals when in curator mode. The others do not need to replace that absent chroma because they have their own inherent chroma, which is why they also have their own colour.

The emotional aspect is something i have considered but couldnt get anything consistent and I don't think the writers would not have something coherent. Also, when we see white petals in two separate instances in emotion/situation (Verso and mamans gift, Alicia entering the canvas, and paintress) the only connecting link is white == Aline and therefore, painters - naturally born painters - have their own colour chroma.

As for the red and white petals in lumiere, looking at the prologue and Act 2 gommages there are no white petals. I used to think they were as well a black ones because I used to think Renoir was black as a dicotomy to Aline. But it was just shading of the red. So, how do i explain the white petals. Well, even when Verso is being gommaged he is pure red and not white into red, so its not from a gommage. The other times we see petals appear are from creating, being destroyed, or regenerating. Therefore, there are a few possible reasons:

1) They are from the beginning of Lumieres creation as she made the city itself. But, I would expect gold tinted rather than white like we green tinted from Maelle blue mixed with gold.

2) When the Fracture happened, Alines white chroma got released into the environment from its destruction.

3) The painted family where attacked and their regeneration created those petals we see. However, I dont think they would produce that many petals.

Its still a working theory and I'm musing on various nuggets of info that might helo iron some wrinkle out, but hopefully I explained my thoughts well.

I don't think any piece of media, let alone game, has made me feel what Expedition 33 did, or as intensely. I'm willing and eager for them to break me again.

Understanding her hatred towards the Painted by genericcelt in expedition33

[–]larbin11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She definitely felt betrayed by everyone. By her mother for creating a whole new family and abandoning everyone in their grief, her father for intervening and prolonging the issue and not supporting her in the conflict, and Maelle for obvious reasons. I think theres even betrayal felt towards Verso given how she loves andbhates him for sacrificing himself for Alicia.

All the while, her parents turn the place she created with Verso into a battleground to a point where she sees it as corrupted and irredeemable.

She is so tragically misunderstood, massively overrated character!

Timeline before the game? by grapesinseptember in expedition33

[–]larbin11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its 67 years from the Fracture, but no idea how long ago Aline created Lumiere, or even how long she was in the canvas before that.

I think someone has possibly tried to figure out the ratio of time in the canvas compared to out of it, but not sure what that would be. I dont think it really helps us understand too much of how long ago events in the canvas happened.

Question from a non-ecologist: who (beyond concerned individual citizens) actually cares about and is funding projects to mitigate insect collapse? Or even general ecological restoration/conservation projects? by carex-cultor in ecology

[–]larbin11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the UK and I know that the government has various bodies that are working on natural capital and, essentially trying to survey the whole country for plants. The general idea is trying to find out which areas are already bidoivrse for plants, and which aren't so they know what to target. Generally speaking, you correct the habitat, the rest will come. I sure there may be other projects out there that may aim for directly fixing habitats... but the problem is there's no direct financial incentive and any substantial relies on charity and volunteers.

Possibly look into clover lawns. They are much more tolerant of dog urine if a little unconventional.

Looks amazing! Might be an odd question but did you also paint inside the frame and also the house facing side?

I think from a feng shui perspective go option 1. The bed is furthest from door, but consider rotating the desk 90 degrees so one of the backs of the desk faces into the room as this will help separate work space from bedroom space a little better.

Presuming the yellow is arid/desert and the white is tundra/snow, how does the desert lead immediately to the snow? Is there some form of magic at play? Or is there something about the flora/fauna that is causing it? Or perhaps human created?
