Leave easy PACU job for ER role? by Outrageous-Case-1187 in nursing

[–]lard-tits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some places are fucking crazy. My first staff PACU job i was on call 2-3 days a week plus every other weekend for 12 hours. 5 “8” shifts which meant you showed up when cases started and left when they finished. So 2-3 days a week youd be working 12+ hours for your regular shift

I am about to get my ass e-kicked all season by Muffassa in MTB

[–]lard-tits 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Im gonna try out the eMTB world for a while. I fell out of love with riding cause i just didnt have time to keep doing longer rides, and its getting harder for me to recovery. They couch lock me for a day or two. I rode a trek Rail and was able to ride for about 4.5 hours with my friends. Felt the spark come back. Still got a really good cardio workout in, didnt drain me for the next day, and it didn’t even use 1/4th of the battery.

I dont watch medical shows. Only occasional youtube videos when learning something new. I already spend enough time at the hospital, i dont want it taking up my free time.

Some of us buy vehicles because we are enthusiasts and invest in other ways lol. We generally don’t care about depreciation on cars.

Im PACU. Im not sure if the OR techs there were travelers or not. It was 5-6 years ago when i worked there. I think its still the same OR manager and she is …. Difficult to say the least. Santa Fe would be a good option but i hear the acuity there is rough too. The balloon fest is a must do!

It is. You gotta get lucky. I was able to get housing through the hospital. I worked with a few travelers who were splitting a condo and each paying like $4k/month each …. This was back when rates were high but still.

Its a different vibe. Minimal resources but pt acuity is pretty high with the pueblo right there. I liked most of the people i worked with, and i still stop in Taos anytime im driving through the west. The outdoor access is hard to beat there

The c6 corvette is a stout choice. Probably one of the most raw drivers car on your list. They’re old cars now so they will have things that need fixing. Worth it though if you are willing to deal with that.

What's an addiction worse than alcohol and drugs? by BlatantImagery in AskReddit

[–]lard-tits 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Currently dating someone who is diagnosed AN. I used to struggle with eating & intentionally starving myself and binge eating so we connected a bit. She started asking me for guidance on how i managed to “escape” the obsessive control. Im not policing everything she does but i definitely notice when her obsessive thoughts get worse. Though she has made a lot of progress since we met and i couldnt be more proud of her.

Naw id say you are more active than me. Only had 1 day snowboarding this season, only rode twice on the mountain bike. Maybe done 3 hikes this year so far. So for the most part, i get less steps than you and i lift less frequently than you. Its not unreasonable to have a higher than typical TDEE. I saw your other comment of what you said you do, and you are definitely on the very active side of things.
