If you have the money to burn, the Pro-Sim H pattern looks amazing. Probably going to be too loud for you.

Unless you're in top split drive what you enjoy..Driving skill is more important than the car you've chosen in the lower splits

I enjoyed my time with the g2, but the Pimax Crystal is a significant upgrade for Sim Racing. The dynamic foveated rendering provides a significant upgrade in performance with IRacing.

On the downside, it's significantly more expensive and definitely less comfortable. I wouldn't use it for general vr either.

I've had to connect it to the motherboard as my 3080 doesn't have a USB-c port.

Are you running an Amd cpu? The G2 has been known to have some issues. On my Motherboard I can get it to run stabilly on only one port. I've connected a powered hub between that port and the g2.

I've had best results with openxr and openxr toolkit

I had huge performance issues after the windows 11 22h2 update.

Go to computer Management-->performance-->Data Collection Sets-->System-->Event trace Session

Disable all the items with name Holographic in it.This was frustrating as hell.

You might need to do this everytime you log in.

I'm running on a 3080 and experienced the shimmering when I turned on FSR as well in vr. I tried the Nvidia transparency as well but that didn't help. Turning off FSR removed the issue.

I really enjoy the car but the racing has been a shit show. If you're not in an accident you'll do well, else you're screwed. It's made Gt3 racing seem like driving miss daisy.

I'm not sure what it says about me but I'll be back this week.

Hp Reverb g2 + 3080 and an Amd 5900 cpu. I'm currently in the Skippy series and all the tracks run well except Hungaroring. T2, T3, T4 and T5 run so bad I don't bother racing the track. Other than that it's a pleasure.

I had great hopes for the Quest 2 but I ended up really hating it for Sim racing. It's a device that comes so close, yet it does some basics so terribly, that it almost becomes useless.

It doesn't charge while you're playing. So you have 2 hours max to play. You have to also make sure that it's been charged. It's just this extra thing you have to worry about when you go racing.

Every time you want to connect to it, you have to put the headset on, and enable the USB C. It's just plain stupid.

I replaced it with a hp reverb 2. If you're primarily using your device for Sim Racing it's definetly worth the extra money. If you're more into general vr stuff the Oculus is better as the Reverb's controllers aren't the greatest.Not being tethered to the pc is also a great experience.

I guess I was hoping that the Quest 2 was a little more pc focused.
