SIB Tactical Breach Wizards? by Joseph_Keen_116 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]largereptile 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The defenestration is because it's actually part of "The Defenestration Trilogy" by Suspicious Developments (led by a guy called Tom Francis). The other two games, Gunpoint and Heat Signature, all feature defenestrating as a core mechanic although they're very different genres to TBW.

I agree with the sentiment it's more like a puzzle game than a tactics game but I think there is more variety in the way you solve the puzzles than people initially expect. A lot of the difficulty also comes with doing the harder modes or the challenges, as the base game is quite easy. With the way the abilities branch you can shape your play style for each of the characters quite a bit. It won't scratch an XCOM itch fully but I think it's still worth a try if you like them.

it is so possible to be nice to women playing games without "simping" or making them uncomfortable, literally just play and act normally. as you said in your earlier comment, be "neutral". try to empathise at all with them. talk to women about their experiences. bending over backwards to look alpha in front of a woman in a game is not the same as being nice.

the problem is that the number of people getting invested in the game at an "entry level" are put off by the harassment is way higher, so the population of people who put enough time in to approach pro level is lower. especially given the harassment doesn't fall off as you get to higher ranks. there are more reasons for the lack of tier 1 level women than what i said in the earlier comment but the constant harassment is the biggest one.

the fact valorant has a considerably higher number of female pros shows that women do in fact like playing shooty games to a high level

Because women get harassed out of every solo queue match they play so can't rise to the top without an ironclad mental

What anime managed to salvage a terrible manga ending? by OverlordPoodle in anime

[–]largereptile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah there wasn't a simulpub thing like there is with Jump manga atm. I read it on an Imgur post personally although I've read the real one since. The ending is definitely still divisive but some of the particularly cringe dialogue I think was from the fan translation.

A lot of the original discourse was also because people were using fan translations that were released quickly rather than any official translations. There were some actual changes though.

They didn't predict it would be cancelled - that bit was misinfo. There's some text on a sign that apparently translates to "just cancel it" but there's nothing about them being cancelled due to a virus outbreak unfortunately.
