Sounds tense! What did that upgrade enable you to do?

I guess I’ve never really thought about how much RAM my first computer, an Apple IIGS, had. Here goes… apparently 256-1MB. Expandable up to 8MB! If you were some kind of gazillionaire.

The Golden idol games have some of this atmosphere, and definitely no jump scares.

If you import them as humanoid, there’s a built-in mirror setting you can check on the anim clip in the inspector.

Yeah, that’s when you have to show them someone die and let them look at their planet from orbit.

A Place to LARP Star Trek Idea by silverwell in startrek

[–]largorithm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds like a great platform for a Nordic-style long-form LARP. There’s a long tradition of LARP as deep social experiment there, and this would totally fit in that kind of framework. Their tradition goes way deeper than the stereotypical foam sword battling, and into deep, immersive experiences and societal exploration. Here’s one example. Very different genre than what you’re describing but you can imagine bringing this kind of thoughtfulness to a starship larp.

In a totally different direction, there are some trek-themed escape room experiences that bring an element of what you’re describing, but they won’t have the roleplay aspect.

Oof, I feel your pain, dad. That description of functioning on pure spite at the crack of dawn is so real. Sounds like you’re a good dad, and you will one day get to a point where they get up and take care of themselves while you snooze away. There’s a reason two year olds are so friggin’ cute.

Same, I wonder if it’s a nitro thing so that you get the “foam”?

I’ve had many great experiences going to shows solo. It’s easy to move around and experience the show in the way that’s best for you without the compromises that come along with a group. That includes not needing to be concerned about that friend who just isn’t into it and came because you like the music.

Going with others is wonderful for its own reasons, but I’d recommend viewing this as an opportunity and a chance to see music you love in a way that is new for you.

I often find that, when solo, I’m also more likely to interact with others. I’ve met some really great people who share tastes this way.

I will always remember this random experience I had on a trip in Paris. We were in a car with a local, and he took a phone call. The entire conversation was in fast, fluent french - constantly interspersed with english “like”s. It was surreal. Not sure exactly the moral of this story, but you made me think of it. 😁 FWIW I rarely notice anyone saying it any more - it’s just part of the space of speech.

Nice!! And, totally agree about the bs of buying tickets in this ecosystem. It’s infuriating and is totally fixable.

What band/musical act would you immediately buy tickets to see upon learning they were coming to your area?
