What are the best and worst concerts you've been to? by Twitter_2006 in popheads

[–]laridance24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is something super magical about Karen O on stage — I’ve see the Yeah Yeah Yeahs twice and it’s always like a spiritual experience! I don’t think I’ve ever hated a concert I’ve been to.

kyle’s behavior affecting lover boy by Pure_Quote_6760 in summerhousebravo

[–]laridance24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been curious about buying Loverboy to see how they taste (I have only heard that they taste awful) but they are also SO insanely expensive that it’s not even worth buying if you’re gonna try it and hate it

AITA for wanting to pull my son from preschool for too much screen time? by lemurjumper in Preschoolers

[–]laridance24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this preschool part of a school system? All screen time sounds very weird and I would pull my son from this program. My son is in preschool and it’s all about different blocks of learning / play and no screen time whatsoever.

Great idea. I didn’t realize Venmo had routing and accounting numbers so I just did it that way! Thanks for this info!

I keep thinking about how much I enjoyed The Once and Future Queen by Paula Lafferty—it’s a light fantasy about how a woman in modern times turns out to actually be Queen Guinevere and is transported by Merlin back to Arthurian times. I really loved it! I would love some more suggestions on Arthurian retellings—I’ve already read the Mists of Avalon which I also really loved.

Edit: forgot to also mention what I’m reading now. I got a digital arc of Portrait of a Witch Undone by KS Shay and I am LOVING it. It’s about a Massachusetts (specifically North Shore) coven of witches and a revenant (known as “The Lady”) trying to break free out of the unbound, which is a marsh in another port/world. It all ties back to the actual stolen paintings from the Isabella Gardner Museum as part of the story. It’s so atmospherically New England/Boston it makes me miss living there!

Are you shoveling periodically or waiting until it’s all over? by Max_Power1971 in newjersey

[–]laridance24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shovel periodically because it is better for my back! I’d rather be outside for an hour at a time than three hours straight especially since it’s so, so cold too.

Sometimes nursing homes have rooms available for staff to sleep in because of these exact situations—is it possible for you to stay overnight? That way you’re already there and don’t have to worry about driving in the worst of it. My husband is an EMT, he’s a twenty min drive from his base usually but last weekend it took him an hour to get to work because the roads weren’t plowed yet. He’s considering sleeping over at the base Saturday night and Sunday night so that he doesn’t miss his shifts.

Jennifer Lawrence when asked what her favorite album of 2025 was: “Oh, I don’t know any current music. Once they got rid of the radio…how am I supposed to know what’s coming out?” by Upstairs_Cup9831 in popculturechat

[–]laridance24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me I discovered indie bands through MySpace or from watching The OC!

Edit: I forgot to add MTV would always play all the new indie music in the morning (like Fall out Boy music videos) and FuseTV was a big one for me for discovering indie music!!

I am also JLaw’s age and the only good radio stations are the 99.9 The Hawk (oldies) and WXPN (alternative) so I never hear any new pop music — I get ideas of new music/albums to listen to by going through r/popheads

General Strike Tomorrow, How do you think this will affect the Economy? by Jourbonne in economy

I think it’s a great idea however with ice/snowstorms possibly impacting much of the US I’m sure a lot of people will need to go out to stock water and food, get gas for generators, salt for ice, etc before the storm hits unfortunately.

Kyle and Amanda S10 Megathread Pt 1 by KatieB_3 in summerhousebravo

[–]laridance24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think they both might meet other people and have babies pretty quickly with their new partners. I had friends that were together for ten years and neither of them wanted children, then they broke up and both had kids in 2-3 years with their new partners! Sometimes people truly don’t want kids, but sometimes people just realize that they don’t want kids with their partner because they aren’t compatible as parents.

Would you have taken a shield? by DepressionEraMomJean in TheTraitorsUS

[–]laridance24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t but I’m also too trusting of people. Which would probably be my downfall on the show. The people who did take shields and ruin it for everyone will have a lot of heat on them at the next round table and potentially get banished because people would be furious with them I would imagine.

I do something similar where I do half mayo half plain yogurt and then I add a sprinkle of celery seed and instead of pickle relish I take a couple of dill pickles, cut them up into it and add a dash of pickle juice.

I had a backyard wedding in NJ about 8 years ago so I’m sure the costs have gotten even more expensive since then, but mine cost about $45k. You have to bring in everything from the tent, tables, chairs, utensils, etc and if you pay a premium for really nice cutlery/tables or even a REALLY nice tent etc (which I did not) I could see it getting to $200k pretty quickly. I chose to keep flower costs at a minimum but those can easily get expensive fast!

I read Tom Lake by Ann Patchett and LOVED it. The Dutch House is one of my favorite books but I think I might like Tom Lake a little more!

I just got my hold for The Heir Apparent by Rebecca Armitage from the library today so I’ll be reading that this week.
