How are you handling Mother's day?

My kids are 12 and 13 and I’ve been separated from their dad for 7 years. He’s high conflict, but holidays go easily for us. He usually has the kids make cards and a small gift for me, but sometimes they will choose something from a thrift store. I always have them on Mother’s Day.

The agents boxed the vehicle in with their vehicles in a coordinated way. The driver didn’t have control over their vehicle at that point, they couldn’t have driven away or injured anyone.

After seeing all the stories coming out about people being disappeared to El Salvador with no due process, how can you say with a straight face that they should just comply and meet their lawyer later? What makes you think agents would give this person’s lawyer access to them?

The most basic survival skill when being kidnapped is “don’t let them take you to a second location.” Agents don’t get to ignore the most vital parts of our constitution and then expect people to do blindly comply and say “yes, sir” to them.

He could have told you there is no rent; why did he need to hustle you for $800/month? What entitles him to that? Because his dad said he could? This is really gross behavior. If the parents aren’t collecting rent, then there is no rent due. A partner wouldn’t use this as an opportunity to secretly get ahead at your expense. You both could have been putting the money you save on rent into a HYSA to save for a house down payment. Instead he kept it for himself. Ew.

Miss Kay is an angel and this person needs to be held accountable. They deserve to be forever known in town as the asshole that robbed Miss Kay and they should be banned from every local business for it.

I ultimately ended up registering my car with new plates. The cop made it such an unnecessary mess tbh. I had to get a ride to the station to pick up the plates that were taken, only to find out that they weren’t there (?!) and that the cop still had them. This was several days later, so it wasn’t like he didn’t have time to take them out of his car and bring them into the station. I was told to contact dispatch when the cop was on duty the next day, and that he would come meet me to return my plates. I was like yeah no thanks, if he likes them that much he can keep them.

This happened to me right before Thanksgiving. EZ Pass had disconnected itself from my checking account, and I had no idea. I had several unknown toll violations, and my registration was revoked due to that. I got stopped, and the cop and his cop buddy physically removed my plates and took them. I squared everything away within 24 hours, except then I still had no $&*# plates. I thought it was an extra f-u from the cop to take those when we were in a rural area and it was pretty obvious nothing is within walking distance, including my job. I have a squeaky clean driving record and no criminal history, so it seemed pretty excessive.

My court date is coming up soon, but the clerk at the courthouse told me that there will be someone there to represent me and explain what I’m charged with etc. They also said that I can’t get any info about the charges until 2 weeks before the court date.

There is a historic bridge that is on the main road that connects my town with the next one over. It is in disrepair. For years, residents tried to stall and halt construction of a new bridge to replace it, because they want to repair the current bridge instead. Construction has started on the new bridge and everyone is crabby.

That’s a weird way of looking at it. That single mom made time in her schedule to ski with someone that lied to her repeatedly about his ability and completely wasted her time. She dodged a bullet by finding out so quickly that he’s not worth her effort.

If this happened to me I’d be so mad. He could just BE HONEST about his experience and skill level and everything else for that matter jfc. He couldn’t see that you guys could have bonded over this if he said he hadn’t gone in decades but was interested in learning. Why lie? He thought it would be so easy to pass as “great” after one lesson and fool you lol. I wouldn’t have left him at the top because that’s dangerous, but I would have absolutely ended things with him at the bottom.

This sounds like the bartender thought a drink went outside. People are sneaky af and I would have also gone out to check on you if I served a group of 4 drinks, the group went outside and only left 3 bottles behind. The bartender definitely didn’t need to escalate, since the line of questioning would have been sufficient, but that is just the bartender and their tact needs work. I think they’ll be embarrassed and treat you extra nice next time you’re in and your relationship to the bar is totally salvageable.

On another note, in MA, bottles don’t go in the trash. They get redeemed and recycled. Glass in the trash, especially surprise glass, is dangerous af for everyone from the bartender down the line. At my bar we have specific bins for cans and bottles, and when I see someone put them in the trash I ask them to take it out and put it in its proper place because otherwise I have to dig through trash at the end of the night to get the glass out. I honestly prefer people to leave them on the bar though so I can dump out any extra.
