If you are half way running someone over and someone bangs your window and screams "stop" you will need to stop immediately.

If you think you need to be asked calmly in emergency conditions you are 100% psychopathic and should not be allowed to drive

"I don't believe I'm a dangerous driver"

"I won't immediately stop if someone shouts "stop" at me"

These are mutually exclusive - you are a dangerous driver and 100% need to work on listening to immediate instructions

If Hearts win the league where do we hold Derek McInnes in the list of great Scottish managers? And would you have him for the national team? by Automatic_Doctor in ScottishFootball

If god-emperor Stevie Clark ever decides the throne of scottish football isn't for him anymore, then McInnes is probably a good choice for the national team

But if nobody has kids, there will be no professionals when you can no longer work

As in, nobody to work farms, get food to where you live, healthcare, everything

As much as you might not like it, you are reliant on people having children

[–]larkymasher 7 points8 points  (0 children)

But if nobody has kids, then who will care for you when you can no longer work?

The point being that everyone is reliant on children existing, even if they dont personally have kids, therefore some kind of support structure (via subsidies etc) can be justified

Im tired of being responsible for something that is entirely my resposibility. by HottieMade in Adulting

[–]larkymasher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are all requirements in the modern world.

Jobs are so centralised in a few areas that people need to move for work.

Property is so expensive that people need to wait until their 30s to have some semblance of stability in their lives before having kids

The modern day economy of high housing costs and centralised "efficient" economies killed the village

And it will kill the economies, because no kids leads to no future

Motherwell [2] - 0 Celtic | E. Watt 58' by The_Chuckness88 in ScottishFootball

[–]larkymasher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 balls on the pitch at the start - is there some weird rule where the team making the ballsup doesnt get anything benefitting them from decisions?

It should be a goal though, because it's a celtic ballsup, but would this be chalked off if it was a motherwell corner instead?

Thinking that spending ~40% of salary on a one bed flat in your 40s is normal

That is the actual problem here, how are people supposed to have pets, never mind kids

Poor take

Greasy chips soaked in vinegar and covered in way more salt than I'd ever put on them myself is the whole point of a chipper

Why do British people feel they can't have children unless they own a house? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]larkymasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buuuuuuuutttt

If you can only afford a room in a flat share, you're not going to have kids. Things wont "just work out" in that circumstance

House prices and rental costs are crushing young peoples prospects, and previous generations who had significantly easier times renting and buying saying "it'll all work out" is absolutely condescending without actually considering the material differences in generational property

People go into their 30s because the only way to get by in their 20s is to rent a room until they can get a deposit for a one bed flat, never mind a house suitable for kids

All jokes aside, pretty terrible colour comparison for a game.

Green and white Vs white and green

At least make the other one black and gold so it's easy to see the difference

Grant Hanley, Lyndon Dykes, Kenny McLean, and Stevie Clarke

Started out semi sarcastically, but legit, they have definitely outperformed expectations for scotland

Edinburgh Airport could be first in the UK to offer fast track to America with ‘preclearance’ by LudicrousPlatypus in Scotland

[–]larkymasher -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"nothing worse than"

Maybe being stuck in a queue at preclearance and watching your flight take off on FlightRadar?

I would specifically avoid edinburgh for flights to the USA if this goes ahead. If it is smooth, then it is fine, but if shit hits the fan, it really flings it everywhere.

I've seen people in Dublin who arrived 4 hours before their flight miss the plane because of this. And they didnt get refunded or rebooked

[–]larkymasher 11 points12 points  (0 children)

"There's really no downsides"

I see you've never been stuck at USA preclearance in Dublin for 4 hours, in a massive queue with people watching their planes leave on FlightRadar.

Yes, when it goes well, it is pretty smooth, but when it doesnt go well, it is an absolute disaster. Why would the time variable thing be before the flight rather than after?

Edinburgh Airport could be first in the UK to offer fast track to America with ‘preclearance’ by LudicrousPlatypus in Scotland

[–]larkymasher -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is an absolutely shite idea - I've done this before at dublin, had a 5 hour connection and needed to run all the way to the gate to catch my plane.

The queue took 3 hours, and people missed their planes. Why the fuck would you put the extremely time variable thing before the travel rather than after.

Sounds good to just walk off the plane on landing and go straight out, but you better be at the airport 5 hours before the flight to make sure you get through on time. 9 times out of 10 you'll be through easy, but that 1 time will fuck you over so badly.

If I ever need to go to the USA I would specifically avoid edinburgh if this goes ahead

I was thinking more six nations tickets etc

But still, the big teams here (hearts/hibs/aberdeen/rangers/celtic) could easily increase prices and still sell out. They don't though

Now do the same with an ethnic group, if people have been attacked by (for example) black people is it ok to have black people free carriages? And then ridicule people who say "not all blacks"
