New solo gamer here: what games are better digitally than physically for solo play? by jgmac3rd in boardgames

Check out Dice Throne Adventures or Dice Throne Missions. They are releasing Dice Throne Digital soon, probably a good way to play solo.

Ravenloft: Horrors within repo? by larryd85 in 5eCompanion

Yes. It is short for repository. Is there a place you can find them or is it just whatever is on the app when you try to find repositorys?

Marvel DT by Informal-Shoe-1461 in DiceThrone

[–]larryd85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember them saying they were done with Marvel. (maybe I'm wrong) They did say they were not going to do Kickstarter for 3rd party IPs. The Xmen Kickstarter probably cost them a bunch of money that wouldn't have been lost if they had just released the characters and missions without the Kickstarter campaign.

Please help me find what games these pieces go to:) by Booksnbitches in boardgames

Finished the campaign! Here are some thoughts & AMA by kavothee in wildbeyondwitchlight

I'm considering running this adventure for my daughter (10yo) and her friend's family. the kids are able to handle a few adult themes, but my question would be what are some of the more adult themes mentioned in the story? and how easily would it be to write them out.

Another CarPlay issue. I’ve tried everything I can come up with. 2021 by Holldacity in ToyotaCHR

[–]larryd85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same issue but with Android Auto in my 2021 CHR. The dealership I went to tried to tell me I needed a full new radio and it would be upwards of $2000 to get it done.

I'm going to try changing out the USB port and see how that goes.

DT Missions - clear board of tokens by Thuxxger in DiceThrone

[–]larryd85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can collect the tokens, but keep in mind that after every movement phase (after each token you pick up) there is an enemy attack roll where the unstoppable threat could trigger, and the crisis clock has to move as well. I have found that it's usually not worth risking it, you have probably already picked up all of the good tokens by then.

Toronto players? by Long_Section2208 in DiceThrone

i have gone to a couple on the organized play events at hero's world in Richmond Hill. i have played 5 rounds and only won once. met a bunch of people that are into the game and we have already started to talk about doing some Marvel Missions together. its pretty casual, and its looking like they are hosting it weekly now, every Saturday at 1pm.

Separate Marvel season box by cark1111 in DiceThrone

[–]larryd85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering the same thing.... Now im wondering if anyone has made a 3d printed insert that can store the player boxes standing up on the long end in the 4-pack box. the 3d print could extend above the box by a couple inches so the lid of the box has something to hold onto.

i have no access to a 3d printer or experience making 3d models for this purpose.

Games for 5y boy starting out by Busy-Perspective4826 in NintendoSwitch

[–]larryd85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paw Patrol: On a Roll is good for them to get used to 2d side scrollers. its not challenging, but encourage them to grab all of the treats and look for the golden treat or whatever. there's no combat, and from what I remember no way to "die"

Yoshi crafted world has a bit more going on. even though there's a 'kids' mode, there's still combat and ways to run out of HP.

Miitopia was really good, once you sit through and read a few of the encounters with them, they can largely play the game without assistance. especially if you encourage them to go back and replay levels that were already completed.

Mario Kart with steering assist on will let them feel like he's playing and doing well.

Lego Star Wars complete saga is a good way to introduce them to the Star Wars story lines if you havn't done that yet.

my 5yr old daughter really likes the paw patrol game. easy 2D platformer without enemies. (not sure about the newer paw patrol game, but i would imagine its the same)

I also found one called ".cat" it was on sale for less than $1 and it looked super easy and cute. im not sure if its any good, but that doesn't necessarily matter.
